I am just glad to be home right now! I worked in the preschool program today, and then did Homework Club and it was crazy. I don't know if it is the weather or cabin fever or what, but anyway, things were pretty silly this afternoon. I had to get the signatures I was missing on that scout paperwork, DS had pep band tonight at the girls' basketball game and I let him go, since he needs the participation points for band. I am home decompressing and doing laundry and cleaning the kitchen. again. I also need to return a phone call and I don't want to because it is someone who wants me to take on another project. Sigh.

Hi everyone, hope it's been a good Tuesday for you. Pretty regular work day for me, although I learned that we'll be getting probably three new students among my two classes in the next week or so.

I think, like you said, it will be different the second time around when Becca goes through it. But this time, it is really a learning experience for everyone, parent and child. And really, its just as much for you as Kristen, it is hopefully going to offset some of what you will be helping pay for her college (or less she'll take out in loans, either way). So it benefits everyone. If she wasn't doing anything else, I'd be more inclined to say she needs to be doing it herself, but she's busy, and all those activities lead into the whole college, scholarship aspect. At least that's how I look at it. My DH would be more like the librarian's attitude, its her stuff, she should be doing it...

A friend of mine who's 2 DD's are both in college now told me when she went through it with the first one how much time they both put into scholarships and school applications. She gave me a few pointers to keep in mind that i"ve passed along to Jordyn, like keep a binder and put down all your community service hours, all your school activities and any certificates or honors you get from them, any essays your write that are a good representation of your work, etc. so you have it all in one central location so that when you're applying to places you don't have to constantly be looking stuff up, sort of like your work resume. I am glad she gave me some of those pointers, or I think I would already be panicked about so many more things that I already am!

She wanted to know why I was doing all of the legwork for Kristen.

Cheryl, was she questioning why you were doing it as opposed to Kristen, or because Kristen was applying for scholarships at all?

Thanks. I'm only about half way done with the office and have 10 boxes so far. It's all books so I have to be careful not to overload the boxes. I am labeling where it will eventually wind up and if it goes to storage or to the ILs. I think I'm going to want the storage unit in Feb rathe rthan waiting until March.

Ami, let me know how the fly lady is working. One of the moms from Emma's EC board always raves about it, and I have tried starting it a few times, but I never seem to make it past the kitchen sink part. :0(

Let's see. Work this morning, desk over lunch, and then I'm trying out a new schedule\routine to help me get more done around the house. Back to the FlyLady way. I set up daily and weekly schedules yesterday and am going to put them in practice today. It might sound a little rigid but I need a stricter schedule to keep me honest.

This afternoon I've got housework and piano practicing to do. After school I need to get dinner going and work on some pots that got oil burned onto them while dinner was cooking last night. ICK! Megan will have homework and swim practice as usual. (Oh, and as an aside, we were talking about grades this morning and Megan asked if I had gotten hers yet. Then she asked if spelling tests counted towards her grade. Ummmm, why wouldn't they?) I've switched things up and am making her practice piano midway through homework so she doesn't have to do it after swim practice when she's tired and cranky; Though tired and cranky seems to be normal these days. That's an entirely different post...

Tonight Evan has Scouts and dh is going to martial arts class. I'm hoping to get to the health club from 7-8 while Evan is doing homework. I thought maybe it would be better to watch The Biggest Loser while walking on the treadmill instead of on the couch eating chocolate covered peanuts! Dh is on Megan's swim carpool pick up leg. Hooray! No driving for me after 5:30!

Have a great day everyone!
