Glad your doing better today. Must have been something in the IL air yesterday. I was in a bad mental place yesterday too. Too much discord in the air. Today seems to be better all around. :)

Hi everyone! What a difference a day makes! Today is going much better even though my hairdryer gave out this morning and my hair looks like I used an eggbeater on it this morning. At least I don't have to see anyone anymore today. :)

Work went pretty well this morning. The kids were stealing toys from each other more than usual but other than that it was peaceful. Working the desk now and then I'll make an emergency grocery store run before I pick up Evan to take him to the orthodontist at 2. I'll run him back to school and make my emergency Target run for a hairdryer after I take him back to school. He'll be there 'til 6:45 for water polo practice. Not sure what I think about the sport but he's really enthusiastic about it and seems to have most of the logistical kinks worked out and has addressed our major concerns. Lots of his swim buddies are playing and that's a good crowd for him to be hanging out with. Megan has homework and state swim team practice tonight. I get to drive both ways because the rest of the carpool is in an orchestra concert. :P

Dh still hasn't been paid. Again, :P He is owed about 6 weeks of back pay. I'm not quite sure how his boss thinks we're going to pay the mortgage...

Once I'm done running all over creation tonight I'll be watching Biggest Loser and doing laundry. Still have Evan's left for this week.

Dinner... No clue. I guess maybe I'll take a look at what's on sale when I get to the grocery store. Maybe there will be something ready made at the deli. Feeding my family has become my toughest job these days. They're picky, we all eat at different times, the kids need extra calories due to swimming so I can't just say, "so sad, too bad if you don't like dinner," money is tight, and dh is trying to lose some weight. Ahhhhhhh!

Have a great day everyone!

Without seeming too nosey... What does your DH do for work that pay is sporadic?

I live in nannied in Kenilworth one summer during college and everyone I met in the that area was dripping with old family money. I assumed it was the same for the majority of the area.

We live south of there and neither one of us has any old money to speak of. Dh's dad was in foreign service for the Philippine government. Sounds impressive but unless you're Marcos, not very well paid. My parents were a teacher and a small business owner who spent wisely and were able to send me to an expensive college. When we were both working and had no kids, things were great for us. I'm home with the kids (working part time with toddlers and loving it but not making much) and he's doing IT management consulting and his current client isn't very good at paying his invoices. Their major clients are government agencies that haven't been paying
their bills either. Long story short, he was given this gig with the intention that the guy he's working for would be pushed out and dh would become an employee and take his place. That was 10 months ago... Sigh...

I worked in the preschool program today. My student had a pretty good day overall, but he kept me very busy. I had Homework Club after that. DS had Knowledge Bowl today and basketball practice after that. DS and I went to th grocery store together to pick up a few just in case provisions, and now we're home waiting for the snow to start. DH has a meeting at church, DD is working, and DS and I are eating cheese tortellini and multi grain ciabatta rolls for dinner. I need to go to bed early tonight. I agreed to sub for one of the secretaries at school tomorrow, and she starts work at 7 am. Crossing my fingers for a snow day tomorrow!
