Hi everyone. Exhausting work day for me. Some conflict over how to deal with the problem student.  Also dealing with some issues with my disabled sister and her health problems.  After work , I went to the doctor.  I have some kind of throat/respiratory infection so he gave me a prescription for antibiotics.

Kayleigh had a regular school day and then stayed after to make up her physics labs.  Ian had a regular day and stayed after for extra help in science.

I'm making a new chicken dish tonight, hope it's good. Then Dan and Ian are going to scouts and i hope to spend the evening relaxing and turning in early. The doctor was surprised that I am up and functional

Congrats on Zeph's accomplishment, and you are right, it is a huge accomplishment! Remember he is still young, learning disappointment and sportmanship is still a work in progress, even kids who have been in plenty of sports and competitions by this age don't always lose gracefully. I know he worked hard, I hope it continues to push him!!

Zeph is in an awful mood.  While I understand his disappointment, it drives me nuts that he can't see what he DID accomplish.  In our circle, there aren't a lot of kids who match or challenge him academically.  This was a great opportunity to see that there are kids who can match his academic abilities.  MY family ahs been calling to congratulate him and he has been less than gracious.  I wish he could see how lucky he is to have all these people caring and taking an interest.

The wrap up from the competition:

Good news is that DS had the 3rd highest overall score and qualified for Nationals in Atlanta.  He made it to the final round of tonight when it got down to 10 kids out of 120.  Then he made it to the final 5.  Then it was the first 2 kids to get 4 answers correctly and he was not one of them.  He had 3 points and to miss it by one point just eats at him.  He works so hard but always finishes 2nd or 3rd.  He did work hard and I am so proud, he did so much reading and was the driving force behind this accomplishment.

Now for the bad news.  This year is not like last year's nationals.  It will not be televised and the scholarship money is not $50,000 but $1,000.  He is very disappointed about not being on TV.  After watching last year's aired episode, it is a let down.  It looks like Houghton Mifflin is no longer their sponsor and they do not have a new one to put up that kind of prize money.  I suppose this information was up all along, but I never read about nationals, because I didn't want to get ahead of ourselves.

He is deciding if he wants to go Nationals or not.  If this is how he is going to act if he loses, I don't want to go, but Iam leaving it up to him.

He is off to a friend's house this afternoon.  I'm hoping that helps his mood some.

Morning.  I had a slow start myself this morning.  But I wasn't late and that is what matters.  After I woke Natalie and Katie Nat ;ets me know that she has to be at school early for one of her teachers.  *sigh*  Why tell me this morning?  Okay, so I get her to school early and get back and get the other two off.  Take my shower and leave early so I can stop at Walmart for my lunch and a few things I need to keep up at work.  Stopped for a Dunkin Donut and a coffee.  Love their donuts!  Got to work just on time and had things to do right away.  I will spend some time creating a new Excell file that I started yesterday.  Picked up a book Excell 2007 for Dummies book to help me out when I have issues.  I use Excell but not extensively so I need something to reference to help me.  Nothing going on after work.  Matthew has been walking home with freinds and got home later then normal yesterday.  A friend came over yesterday and I suppose he might be coming over today.  Katie so has a crush on the guy but she is so suttle it's funny.

Dinner will be something to do wth hamburger meat.  Not sure what yet.

Good morning ladies!  I hope everyone's day is starting off well!

I got up and made breakfast, put dinner in the crock pot and then got the girls up and around and out the door.  Jordyn is home sick again today, hopefully between the antibiotics and the rest, she will finally start getting better.  I do not have much on the agenda today, a few projects to work on, nothing for lunch as its raining.  Tonight is paperwork, laundry, and that's about it that i can think of.  We are having chicken and veggies in the crock pot for dinner.

Have a good one!
