Afternoon & Merry Christmas.  It's 4:30 in the afternoon and I finally pulled out my computer.  I hope you all are having a great Christmas.  We have had a nice day.  Katie woke us up at 6:40am to open gifts.  She got a lot of British things and The Wanted stuff.  Natalie got a bunch of Justin Bieber stuff and Matthew got things he really wanted and was excited to get his hot air popccorn popper.  It's been raining most of the day.  No snow for us, which is fine with me.  Katie has been working in her room putting her things in thier places.  I made a yummy breakfast casserole this morning.  After we opened gifts and I took a nap I started lunch/dinner.  We ate at about 2:30.  I made dressing, green bean casserole, mash potatoes, cornish hens and rolls.  We has pumpkin pie, chocolate cream pie and key lime pie as well.  After eating we played Apples to Apples.  It was fun.  LOL  I like that game.

If anyone gets hungry and needs dinner they will be warming up leftovers.

Christmas was yet

again at the in laws this year. We ave been there since Sunday and got home last night. I have not sat down in the last 4 days. The kids got what they wanted, mostly practical stuff. DS loves his leather jacket. DD got clothes and will get her new phone later this week . Glad to be home, sick of spending every holiday with my husbands family.

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, if you were celebrating.  Here, we got up about 7:00.  The gift opening didn't take all that long this year.  Ian got various things, no one huge gift but a bunch of smaller things, most of which were on his holiday list.  Kayleigh's big gift was her luggage, the kids did get a lot of practical gifts this year.  I got wonderful gifts - an iphone, the tea set I've been eyeing (and visiting everytime I go to the mall) for the past two years - from my kiddo's, an Olive Garden gift card.

The inlaws came close to noon. We had bagels. I spent the afternoon cooking the turkey and sides. We had wine and cheese, played Apples To Apples and the turkey turned out perfectly.  It was a very enjoyable Christmas.

We had a relaxing Christmas. On Christmas Eve, I made cheeseburger soup and homemade rolls, put the soup in the crock pot andthat way, dinner was ready when we got home from church. DD made Christmas dinner on Christmas day, and i stayed in my jammies all day and watched all of season one of Downton Abbey with MIL. I love that show! MIL introduced me to it while she was here and DH and I are now hooked. :) We got DS a laptop, as i am tired of competing with the kids for my laptop when we are all trying to do homework. DD got a Cricut Expression. She was busy cooking on Christmas day and had to work yesterday, so she has not had a chance to try it out yet. I think I am excited as she is to try it out. The kids got all kinds of doodads in their stockings, and we spent a very nice day together.

I could not have asked for a better day.  We didn't get up until almost 8.  The dogs and cat were next to one another by the fireplace opening their stockings (amazing) along with us.  Zeph was excited an thankful for all his gifts, but the iTouch was by far the biggest hit.  DH put some thought into my gifts and that doesn't always happen.  I was planning on making waffle sundaes with fresh fruit and chocolate sauce, but none of us were in the mood for sweet.  We wound up having waffles with eggs and sausage along with a fresh fruit salad.  We were in the mood for savory.

In the afternoon my SIL stopped over (unexpected) for a short visit.  Zeph spent a lot of the day putting together Lego sets, reading and app shopping. DH set up his iHome and taught Z how to use it as an alarm.  He and DH played LOTR Lego on the Wii and said it is alot of fun. We all played Catan (new) and a card mythology game.  We made appetizers for dinner which were suppose to be for lunch but we ate breakfast so late... Right before bed, Zeph's friend called im via Facetime which was the perfect end to his day.

Another holiday come and gone.  What struck me this year is how grown up Zeph is getting.  I'm content to be enjoying this stage looking back at the younger years is more reminiscing that wistful and I wasn't sure how I would handle that.

Little over an hour left of Christmas day and we have severe weather down south.  We are getting wind and heavy rain.  Girls have been in bed for almost 2 hours and are wound up and are not going to sleep.  Everyone has gone to bed but Matthew and I.  I got a bread machine and can't wait to make bread tomorrow for everyone.  Another Christmas has come and gone.
