Oh yay! I am not the least bit interested in Harry Potter or Twilight or anything like that. Most people think I'm nuts. I'm glad I'm not the only one. LOL

I just bought this book for my kids to read. They are ages 10, 11 and 12. I think I'll read it aloud to them. What do you all think?

Only if you want to get pulled in yourself! ;o)

I ordered the first one from Scholastic in August. Remember, Aly likes mythical creatures, and since I had several students who had read the series (and they are 1 grade higher than she is), but I decided to read it first. I didn't start until Sept, after reading about it here on the board and hearing about it on the radio. The day after I finished the first book, I went to 3 different stores to buy the next 3.

Stephenie Meyer is an awesome writer.

I have decided, however, to have Aly wait a while before reading Eclipse & Breaking Dawn. She did read the second one.

Since I've read them, a friend with a 10 & 11 year old read all of them, and has allowed her 11 year old son to read the first 2, and her 10 year old daughter has read the first one (and will probably read the second one). She's waiting like I am on Eclipse. My SIL has read them, her grown step-daughter has read them, her friend has read them, my grown niece is reading them now. Currently, my copy of New Moon is with a former student, a 10th grade boy. And there are quite a few students at our school who have read them, but not everybody will because I work in a Bible-belt type area, and there are many who are anti-vampire, anti-supernatural.
