Megan is not at all interested in politics. If it's not horses, clothes, or make up, forget it. Drives me CRAZY! Evan, on the other hand, has been interested in politics and current events for as long as I can remember. We used to have to kick him off the computer at 10:00 (should have been earlier) when he was in 5th grade because he would get caught up in reading online news. :) Not a day goes by that he doesn't bring up politics. He's spending a lot of time trying to convince dh and I to vote for the candidate of he would like to see in.

We discuss the candidates and their views but haven't really watched the debates. Evan is so drawn in by sound bites and rhetoric that I tried to keep him away from it.

DH and I do discuss politics with the kids to an extent. It is kind of a hot button issue in our house, as DH has become considerably more conservative since I met him. He is a registered Republican, I am a registered Democrat. I actually am more of an independent, but in Alabama you have to cdeclare what you are in order to vote in the primaries. Anyway, with all the dramatics with the local school board we have needed to discuss politics on a local and national level in our family. We general do not watch the debates with the kids. We are never home to watch them.

dh used to be registered as a Democrat, but now he is registered independently of a party like I've aways been so needless to say, we don't vote in primaries since neither of us is affiliated with a party
