1) Do you have any special plans for Thanksgiving?

2) Do you reach out to those in need during this time? If so, how?

1) Do you have any special plans for Thanksgiving?

My mom is having Thanksgiving this year. My dad's family is too big to get together and dh is an only child and his mom lives in FL. My mom "volunteered" to do Thanksgiving this year because her sister is going through chemo and really not doing well and her brother's company is about to go under. My grandparents (mom's parents) are in their mid-80's and while they are doing quite well for their age, they just can't host dinner for 15 - 20 people. I live too far away for anyone to want to come here (and I'm not that great a cook). I feel badly for my mom's whole family and I'm doing what I can long distance...

My mom will then turn around and have her whole family AGAIN on Christmas Eve. My mom is such a Martha Stewart type that she will want to make everything perfect for both holidays and probably drive herself crazy and end up with bronchitis (she's very susceptible to upper respiratory illness).

2) Do you reach out to those in need during this time? If so, how?

Yes, we contribute to food drives at schools, churches, grocery stores, through Scouts, etc. and also do the Angel Tree and church and Toys for Tots.

1) Do you have any special plans for Thanksgiving? Going to my SIL's.

2) Do you reach out to those in need during this time? If so, how? These are all school-related, but we will be donating to a food pantry (4-H food drive), donating needs for soldiers (community involvement between our Beta Club & local pharmacy), donating toys to the local sheriff's toy drive (we do this every year ANYWAY, but will do it through Beta), and making wreaths that will be displayed at a nursing home, or other places if we get too many (doing one for 4-H and one for Beta).
