We haven't done one of these in a while, so I thought I'd do a movie topic today:

1.  Of recent movies your 10-14 year old have seen lately, what was their favorite, or peeked their interest?  And what movies, if any, are they looking forward to coming out in the next few months or this summer?

2.  If you are flipping through the channels on TV, what is a movie that no matter what, you (moms) will stop and leave on to watch, either to sit and watch it, or to just leave on in the background because its one of your favorites?

The last movie Zeph saw at the theater was Lincoln and was inspried to read more about the actual events of the movie.  At home he just watched Titanic for the first time and was glued to the screen.  He's mentioned wanting to see Oz and 42.  This summer he is looking forward to the new Star Trek movie.

Jaws.  I love the movie Jaws- my absolute favorite!

1.  Jordyn and I saw Oz together and both really liked it.  She rents a ton of movies on red box, and she mentioned she really liked Argo that she saw the other night, and of course Les Miserables was both of our complete favorite!!  We are both really looking forward to seeing The Great Gatsby.  I have not read the book, but I am pretty sure Jordyn has.

2.  For me, Any Given Sunday, I am a huge football fan, and so anytime I am flipping channels and cartoons are not on and come across it, I have to leave it on.  I rarely sit down and watch it unless its later in the evening, but I am content listening to it as back ground noise.  And, any of the Underworld movies I will leave on also if the kids aren't around.

The only movie Ian's seen lately was Oz, and he liked it a lot (as did I).  He is really looking forward to the May 31st release of Now You See Me, which my cousin is in and we saw the previews for.

For me, if The Shining is on while I'm channel surfing, there's no way that I can surf past it!

1.  Both kids saw the new movie "42" on Saturday night.  DD said it was pretty good; DS has not mentioned it at all.  Of all the movies they have seen recently, probably their favorite is "Pitch Perfect".  I know it is not a new movie, but both of them enjoyed it so much that I ended up having to hunt it down for them on DVD---ah, the joy of living in the boondocks--before I found the DVD, DS insisted that we had to get it on pay per view so I could watch it with him.  It was a pretty entertaining movie; kind of disgusting in places--think junior high school humor--but not a bad way to spend the afternoon with the kids.

2.  There are several movies that we will watch if they are on TV--our favorites are Forrest Gump (DS is nicknamed after one of the characters, so Forrest Gump is almost like a family member), Jeremiah Johnson (DH and I had a Jeremiah Johnson party last fall, and everyone knew the dialogue so well that we were able to recite it right along with the movie characters, LOL), I like Steel Magnolias, but am not allowed to watch it in the living room--I must sequester myself elsewhere in the house with a box of tissues; any one of the Harry Potter movies,   and that's all I can think of right now.
