Unacceptable service

I have been on iVillage for 8 years now.  I have made friends and coming onto iVillage first tihing is part of my routine.   These recent changes were poorly exected.   I am moving to Facebook.  I have held off with a FB account, but now it seems the best way to keep in touch and to share pictures.  iVillage is not meeting my needs.     If anyone wants to friend me, please PM me (if it works) and I can share my info.  I'll be around for a week or so.

I agree.  I have a FB account but I also have Twitter and use both.  I am very disappointed with the constant logging in and then it telling me I am not authorized but I keep telling myself it will get better.  I miss all the ladies that use to post and have been blocked, or just can't logg in anymore due to recent and past changes.  Fb doesn't do it for me cause I don't post stuff on there I post here since this is a bit more private, my kids can't see what I write. and neither can my friends or family here.  I am feeling a bit stranded since I can't "talk" to anyone really anymore.

I am very sorry to hear that Heather!! I am on FB and you are more than welcome to friend me, as is anyone from this board of course and can PM me for the details. I will PM you Heather, and if you don't get it, let me know and we can email details as my FB is linked up to a different email than my IV account is.

Zeph won't have a FB account in the near future and there is no one in my family that I would friend. My extended family life is seperate than my social life.  I can see how it woudl be a challege to keep them seperate if you hadn't started that way.

FB is how I keep up with distant family and friends. I am close to many of my Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Also, Tim's family uses FB to let us know about family functions. These are the main reasons I ever got a FB account.

I will check here.  But I don't post anymore.  There is 1 computer in the house that allows me to login to ivillage.  Why the desktop won't let me is beyond me.  And I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to have access to the laptop that I can login on.

I have a facebook and a twitter account.  I don't "get" twitter LOL.  I like facebook better.  My whole family is on there, including my 13 year old niece.  I regularly email my sister-in-law there- and that's how she found out about FIL falling while he was here last week (see my post on today's thread for more info)

I totally agree with you Heather. That's why I haven't been on the board in months. I lurk once in a while but that's about it. The frustration isn't worth my time. I do miss the company, advice, and friendship but I've got far more important things to do than wrestle with this site. It makes me sad because I've been around here for 12-13 years and this place has saved my sanity more than once. I would like to think that maybe I helped so others too. I hate to leave that part of my life behind but I don't see that there is much choice. My kids and I are friends on Facebook too so I really wouldn't have the privacy necessary to keep up the same level of discussion and sharing. I guess I could set up an alternate Facebook id and use that for IV friends... Hmm it's a thought...

I don't like to suggest it "on the board", but I would be happy to set up a private group on FB for any IV members that would like it. I have 2 other private groups from old IV boards, Emma's expecting board and another one I belong to. That way, its private and no one on your normal group sees it. If so, PM or FB me and I'll be happy to set one up for us... Cheryl, Chelle and I are all already friends, Ami, feel free to email me.

Most of the people I knwo got FB accounts for those same reasons.  For me, I need a seperation of family and friends.  I need to be clear on lthose lines or fmaily will cross it. We talk to our moms once or twice a week and I talk to my granmdas once a week and my dad calls me one a week too.  My aunts and my cousins we are all spaced in age that we are not close.  DH did menton that his mom and Sis are on FB. I think they'll get the seperation I need and not be offeneded not to friend them.

Thanks Heather. I couldn't reply yesterday because I'm "not authorized to post" according to iVillage. This is why I don't spend much time here. I didn't want you to think I blew you off so I thought I'd respond today seeing as how I could get in. We've got a decent summer ahead of us. Evan is working on finding a lifeguard job, going to Boy Scout camp, and doing things around the house, and Megan has two camps on her plate. That's about it. This summer is titled Hello Responsibility, Good Bye Entitlement. Could be hard on me but we'll all be better off in the long run... Hope you and your family enjoy your summer as well.
