Well the board of education here for our district had its second reading of the dress code last week. Here it is: Jeans can be worn but no cargo style and no overalls. Shirts are only permitted to be the following polo or golf type solid or striped oxford style and or crew style no pictures no writing or numbers are allowed on the shirts only top button can be left unbuttoned. No jackets or coats can be worn in the building unless left unfastened NO backpacks allowed from the 4th grade up at any school. All clothing must fit properly and it is up to the individual school whether shirts will be required to be tucked in or not. This is basically what they had except for the restrictions on shirts and cargo style jeans not being allowed. They get 6 times to comply then disciplinary measures will be taken. There was a copy of it in the report cards that came home at the last day so they knew what was the final outcome. Zachary is looking forward to middle school but I am going to have to do some extra shopping before hand over half his closet has t-shirts that are not permissable next yr and he has two pr of cargo style jeans he cannot wear either. SO if he is going to go through anymore growth spurts I hope it is before school this yr since I have to basically go get a whole new wardrobe anyway. Timothy will still be able to wear his t-shirts as this does NOT apply to elementary students. OH well more fun for this summer.

Actually, it doesn't sound too bad at all! You can wait for end of the season sales, but I've been shopping for Sam (outgrew everything from last summer) and *many* stores had plain crew neck shirt for less than $5/each. Check Target, Kohl's, Old Navy, Kids R Us, Penney's, WalMart. I wasn't looking for polos, because Sam has a couple, but the ones I happened to notice at those stores were also very inexpensive.

Hope your shopping goes well!
