Its like that in MD too but we do have a severe thunderstorm watch until this evening. Tomorrow its suppose to be colder, we're getting the cold Midwest weather
We have power again. Yeah! It was 15 this morning when we woke up and it is expected to go down to 5 Sunday. BRRR cold for this Southern gal transplanted to Missouri. We got about 12 inches of snow last night and under all that is a thick layer of ice & sleet. I've included pictures below & I will also post them in the picture thread below.
Thanks for sharing! I am Midwestern girl that lives in CA. As long as I am married to DH, this is where I'll be too-lol! So I really enjoyed the pictures.
I miss (kinda sorta) the snow!! Thanks again for sharing! I used to do EXACTLY what Phillip was doing. When we took the kids back home to visit my family, they loved the snow!!
Your welcome! They are out there again. Having a snowball fight. I've never seen this much snow so it is pretty neat to me right now. I'm not driving in it so inside or out in the front yard it is really fun.
I did forget to put a bowl out last night to make snow cream so I'm bummed about that. I'll have to remember the next time.
Wow, great pictures. I love the one with the snow and lights. Beautiful. I would rather have snow than the slush and ice we have right now. Although with a layer of ice underneath it can be dangerous. Thanks for sharing.
Here in our part of Oklahoma we had lots of sleet on Wednesday night through Thursday morning. Schools and universities across the state closed on Thursday. Then about noon-ish on Thursday we started getting snow. And the wind was howling about 30 mph. Snow continued all day. Temps in the single digits Thursday night. Friday morning greeted us again with no school across most of the state. We probably ended up with about 8 inches of snow, which is a LOT for us. We had 4 foot drifts across our driveway, which took us more than an hour to shovel out today. It warmed up to about 34, so it really was a great day. Sunny and hardly any wind. The boys had a great time playing in the snow. It's supposed to get really cold again tonight, so the roads will be icy tomorrow since much of the snow melted and then will re-freeze.
So last week the boys had a 2-day week w/ the Thanksgiving holiday, and this week they had a 3-day week w/ the snow. They were very excited about being out of school!

The sun is out and we are in the 50's today! That's the first this week. We've been in the high 40's by day and high 20's by night.

Your welcome Tam. I know what you mean about the ice that part. I hate the ice.
