I'm enjoying DD driving herself and DS to school, especially with it being so darn cold!

Thanks for starting the thread this morning Wendy!! I came into our master bathroom from washing my hair in Jordyn's bathroom to find standing water all over the floor. sigh. We just had the septic tank empty less than 18 months ago, I don't know why it needs to be emptied again. I know know if all the rain has a made a different or the freezing cold front we had or what. But while DH called to get that figured out, I spent a good 45 minutes sopping up water from the floor. Finally got the kids to school and me to work. I will move my errand I needed to run to tomorrow. We have a brief due out today and I have a 2:00 meeting. Tonight, more clean up and DH's invoices that i neglected to do last night. DH is now out of town til Friday.

Have a great day!

Eeewww, yuck, Tracy! : ( We used to have that problem from time to time when we lived in Alabama. Not in the house, but in DH's workshop. He had a sink and a urinal down there and when we'd get heavy rain, the septic down there would fill with groundwater and back up into the workshop. We had to have someone come in and reconfigure our septic--they put a lift station in down at the workshop, and it would pump what was in the tank at the workshop up to the main septic tank at the house.

ya, we are going to have them look at things. Apparently we are only one of about about 5 houses in the neighborhood without a pump, and the builders went cheap and put a small septic tank in and just far enough into the ground to cover it up. They are going to research and find out what it would take to put a bigger tank in, or lower the one we have farther into the ground. Problem is, we're on top of limestone, so its really tough to break into it, part of the reason the builder didn't put it down farther to begin with. The only good thing was if we moved it or got a bigger tank, we could move it farther away from the house and add onto the back of hte house. Right now, even though we live in 1/2 acre, and have a HUGE backyard, the stupid builder put the septic tank 5 feet from the back of the house. Expensive, I'd rather just buy one of the 2 story houses down the street if they went up for sale, but oh well.

Oh yuck Tracy.

I guess that's a good thing about living in suburbia LOL.

we have city services for everything else. Thank goodness we don't need to worry about a well! We had a well growing up until we were allowed to tap into the water system when I was in high school. They are eventually going to have to run septic out to our part of town, its growing so quickly, but I think it'll still be a bit, plus I don't know what the cost will be to tap into it and then the ongoing costs after that. That will make the decision for us I suppose. Honestly, I'd rather be long gone from the house by the time that happens, but who knows...
