Wednesday Chit Chat Thread 12/7/11

I've done ship to store at a few places, but never Best Buy, and right now, after yours and DH's experiences, I don't think I'll try it for a while.

didn't they send you a shipping notice?? If so, didn't they send you a different one saying it was delayed? You'd think they would... I was going to buy an xbox game for DSS there, their website says its not in the store, but I can ship to the store. I'm thinking I will get it at target instead...

we have city services for everything else. Thank goodness we don't need to worry about a well! We had a well growing up until we were allowed to tap into the water system when I was in high school. They are eventually going to have to run septic out to our part of town, its growing so quickly, but I think it'll still be a bit, plus I don't know what the cost will be to tap into it and then the ongoing costs after that. That will make the decision for us I suppose. Honestly, I'd rather be long gone from the house by the time that happens, but who knows...

ya, we are going to have them look at things. Apparently we are only one of about about 5 houses in the neighborhood without a pump, and the builders went cheap and put a small septic tank in and just far enough into the ground to cover it up. They are going to research and find out what it would take to put a bigger tank in, or lower the one we have farther into the ground. Problem is, we're on top of limestone, so its really tough to break into it, part of the reason the builder didn't put it down farther to begin with. The only good thing was if we moved it or got a bigger tank, we could move it farther away from the house and add onto the back of hte house. Right now, even though we live in 1/2 acre, and have a HUGE backyard, the stupid builder put the septic tank 5 feet from the back of the house. Expensive, I'd rather just buy one of the 2 story houses down the street if they went up for sale, but oh well.
