It is Wednesday right?  This week is just going by so slowly, or is it just me??  So, how are you today?

HI ladies.  Its been one of those weeks...  Just wish it would be over with already.  I have a report I am working on, and some other filing and paperwork.  I have to run and get some groceries at lunch, though I can't get the eggs and milk I really need as i have no where to put them.  DH was supposed to get them on his way home last night and he didn't, and I have neither in the house right now.  I have a chiropractor appt. after work, but I am debating whether I go or not, we'll see how I feel.  I have no idea what's for dinner, I haven't have supplies exactly to make anything.  I think I have a skillet meal in the freezer, so we'll probably have that.  I have a bunch of other housework to do tonight.

The week is going slow.  Still no car.  We were hoping to get it back today but we are suspecting it will be tomorrow at this point.  I am starting to feel stranded.  It sure would be nice to get it back tonight so Tim doesn't give me a hard time when I tell him I want to keep his in the morning so I can pick up a few groceries.  Today I vacuumed the floors all voer the house.  Doing laundry and put away a bunch of towels.  Cleaned out a smelly littler box.  Cleaned up a bathroom and my bedroom.  Matthew has to stay after school and unfortunately he has to walk home and it's chilly.  I made sure he had some gloves.  Made sure he had his locker combo so he could leave stuff at school instead of carrying it all home.  I hope it doesn't get dark before he gets home.  Dinner tonight is going to be fish, not sure how I will cook it yet.

Thanks Tracy, about the car. I was hoping for $500 or less. When Tim told me $1200 I about fell. But, I wasn't surprised really. Tim never listens to me when I tell him something is wrong or not sounding right. If he did things like this would not happen. Oh well. It will last us longer now and here I was thinking it was on the way to the junkyard. I really like our Yukon. It has so much room in it and is great for trips. We will survive though. I did try to talk him into replacing it that we will be back at the mechanic within a couple of years again. It's an older car. Our gas bill will decrease a lot. But he won't listen to me on that either. I don't think he believes me that our gas bill will decrease by half if we got a new car. Oh well, I don't know what I am talking about apparently. *eye roll*

It was a rough and unpleasant day at work.  In my classroom, we are all at the breaking point. Didn't help that I don't feel well - earache, chills.

After work, I went to a dr appointment, came home and made grilled cheese for dinner. Now going to veg in front of the fire and go to bed early. I haven't slept enough this week

Kayleigh had a regular school day and so did Ian. No plans for the evening

Chelle- "downsizing" the car to the Focus helped with gas.  I about died when it was $3000 for repairs.  We looked at it though that it would cost us double that to get a 3rd car for the girls to drive.

Yes- we did keep the van.  And it's a gas hog.  But it gets driven maybe 30 miles a week.  Less right now since Becca only has her permit and she has to drive when I'm in the car.

That car payment though- ugh.  Dh wanted to get it paid off as quickly as possible so we took out a 3 year loan.  And there have been months that the car payment, and the house payment AND taxes have just about wiped us out. In March it's done- I'm going to be doing the happy dance.

Kind of quiet day.

Sent off 2 more resumes.  Another temp job, and something with a non-profit.  I wasn't going to send in the one for the non-profit- but I guess I clicked on something at the state job website and I got 2 emails back asking me to send in a resume.  We'll see.  I don't even want to think about how many job applications I've put out over the last few months.  Then I went to a workshop on getting a job interview- picked up some tips including how to use facebook (I don't think I'd use them though) and Linkedin.

Becca leaves tomorrow with orchestra.  I can't go see them :(  Kristen called Monday and asked to be picked up at 3.  Her school is 2 hours south of where Becca would be- and they play at 2:15.  Kristen would have to wait until 5ish- and then we wouldn't get back here until 9.  Oh well- we got to see what they were doing a couple of weeks ago. I guess I'm not taking anyone back, that just means that the Sunday after Thanksgiving we've got to get her back to campus.  Hm- maybe I can just go with dh and we can stop at the Virginia Diner (if you've ever seen triple D on food channel Guy was there a few years ago) on the way back.

Cheryl, I'd love to pick up a smaller car for me to drive around to do errands and taxi the kids.  But I have to drive the Yukon.  I hate trying to park it and then back it out of a parking space.  I find a place where I can pull through, looks like I backed into it.  LOL  It's turning radius is huge and most people don't get it and while I am in mid turn they will try to come past me and I have to stop cause they have taken the room I need to complete my turn.  They will wave me to go and I have to shake my head and wave them to go on, I tell them they are in my way.  Stupid people, I could do damage to their cars in the big brute of an SUV but whatever.  I was trying to turn into a parking lot once and the drive way and road way were both narrow so it took the entire drive way for me to turn into the parking lot and some lady thought she'd be able to squeeze past me to pull out of the parking lot.  She looked at me like I had three horns and I told her as she looked at me to back up, with hand motions too.  There was a cop behind her that had left room cause he saw her stupid actions and knew she'd have to back it up.  I just kept the wheel turned and pulled forward as she backed up so she could see what a stupid thing she thought she could do.  So next time she see a big truck or SUV like me again she will think, oh yeah, they need a large turning area.  At least I hope she does.

It was such an adjustment for me when we got our Tahoe, but now that we don't have it, I miss it soooo much!!! I don't miss the gas, but then again, my Jimmy isn't any better. hate to admit it, but I'll be glad when Jordyn goes off to college and I get to drive her car all the time while she is gone. She'll take it after the first year when/if she lives off campus, but the first year, its staying here with us.

Yuck! Car repairs are the worst- especailly when they are unexpected and they always seem to hit at bad times.
