Most definitely Tracy.

Got the kids off to school at a slower pace this morning.  No rushing out the door and Matthew's bus wasn't late today.  Eating my breakfast while watching some hurricane coverage.  The cat was on the back porch and didn't see anyone leave.  So I let her in when she asked and she walks all over the house meowing her little head off and she has the cutest little meow too!  LOL  It was cute, nobody came and told her goodbye!  I'll have to make sure someone tell her goodbye tomorrow.  LOL  She did the same thing yesterday.  Nothing going on tonight so my friends and I are meeting for dinner and having a ladies night out.  Matthew needs to get started on a project over a book he had to read over the summer.Hoping he does that tonight.

Dinner I am getting the kids started making fish maybe or doing something simple possibly.

Thoughts and prayers to those in MS, AL, LA. Stay safe!

Let's see... Today... I am really, really unmotivated right now. Need to do some menu planning and grocery shopping but if I can scrounge up something to make for dinner I'm going to put that off until tomorrow.

Got the kids off with much stress this morning. Megan told me at 10 last night she needed $5 for a planner and $6 for a lock. Needed to be separate because one was going to the gym teacher and the other to her homeroom teacher. Didn't know who the checks should, be made out to so I had to send cash. Only had $4 in my wallet so this morning I had to go to the ATM, get cash and go to 7-11 to get the right change. Got home with 5 minutes to spare until I had to take Evan to school. Stood in the kitchen and waited for I'm to be ready and then he yelled at me because we were late. Excuse me, I was 5 minutes early, you were late. He stresses about leaving on time because he has to catch a shuttle from the freshman campus to the upperclass campus. I get that but it's not my fault you spend 5 minutes digging through your floordrobe for socks. Perhaps if you took care of your clothes (hamper, dresser, etc) and got up five minutes earlier you wouldn't have a problem.

Have a great day everyone!

Floordrobe LOL.

That's Becca's room.

It was Kristen's as well.  But since she's now living in a room half the size of what she had here (and sharing it with someone)- I'm thinking she doesn't have a "floordrobe" anymore LOL

Every school around us is officially back to school and traffic sucked this morning!  DH is out of town and madison was just not going to help me out at all this morning, she woke me up at 4:15 because she wet the bed, stripped everything down, put it in the washer and she came to sleep in my bed.  Left for work 15 minutes later than I needed to, then traffic, got here way late.  Have a 2:00 meeting. Hoping to get a nap at lunch, need to stop and pick up the 3 things at the grocery store I forgot yesterday, Jordyn needs to make cookies for the football dinner tomorrow evening after she gets home from the lake after school tonight.  And I want to make zucchini muffins for the girls.  I have paperwork and laundry to do also, going to be a busy evening.

Have a good one!

Long time no chat.

Filled out and took an online test for a temp agency.  Yeah- I'm at the point where I'll take ANYTHING.  After a $400 vet bill for Jasper last week (the one we put down)- and groceries- I'm worried about eating all of savings.  I can go in tomorrow for an open house.  That will be 3 "foot in the door" interviews (as I call them).  Where an actual person talks to me, not just a resume going into "the black hole of resumes" and you never hear from the company again.

I know I have work with the temp thing I've done the last 2 years.  But that won't start until January, and I really don't want to not have any money from me coming in from now-then.  If I get something- I'll re-assess in January to see if it's worth job hopping.

School needs to start.  Yes I'm down to one, but that one is driving me NUTS.  She's bored- I think she misses her sister and needs to get back into a routine with her friends.

I need to clean up the mess of the kitchen.  Tonight I need to take Becca over to the high school to be fitted for the new orchestra dresses.  Yay.  They cost more than the old ones we had.  But everyone complained about the old ones, so that's why we're doing new dresses.  Hopefully she won't grow out of this one and it'll last her until graduation.

Kristen wants a care package.  Not much.  A 3 ring binder (and you can't get yourself to Walmart considering bus transportation around the city is FREE with your student ID?)  Music she was working with her private teacher.  Extra strings for her violin (she has no clue where she'd get them- I guess she could online order them but I think it would take longer than me just mailing them to her).  Nylons (again- can't you get to walmart?)  And candy.  Maybe part of it is that she'd like mail from home :smileyhappy:  Since I have to send her music anyways- for a few extra bucks I'll just stick the rest of it in there.

Ann, do you guys live in CA, is there a need for CA credentials, or are you guys looking to move soon? Just curious.

I'm sure its more the mail from home thing Cheryl, she'll settle in just fine soon enough! At least she didn't ask for girl products, a few other moms and I were talking about that he other day when I mentioned Jordyn asked me to run out last week for some for her, she's bought them before, so its not that, but I think she didn't want to spend "her" money on them. So I will have to add that to my list of "college care package" contents come next year. LOL! I'm sure Becca will settle in soon enough also, when does school start for her?

A couple of days before she left- we went to Target and got all of the girl "stuff" she needed.  "But mom- I'm embarrassed to buy that stuff- what if a GUY checks me out?"  Sheesh.  She needs to get over it LOL.

I need to go out and get it- but it's going to have to wait.  Waiting for a call from the bank.  She forgot to sign something for her checking acct, and the bank wants to mail it to her.  I couldn't find her address and it was taking too long, so I asked them to call back.

School doesn't start here until the day after Labor day.  IMHO I think that's just too late.  State testing is in May up until Memorial day. So then then teachers have 2 weeks of "filler stuff" before school ends.  Everyone is just done with school by that point anyways.  And then August is so long.  VA has this silly law that says you can't start before Labor Day, unless you get a special waiver from the state.  And this area refuses to get the waiver- they say the tourist area depends on teenagers too much. Like my teenagers have ever gotten a job in the resort area anyways.  SIGH.  And even if something did pass- it wouldn't go into effect now until after Becca graduates, so it's just a moot point for us.
