Good morning ladies, how are you this Wednesday morning?
I got up and make breakfast for everyone, coffee and got the roast in the crock pot for dinner. I would have been to work on time if there hadn't been 2 major accidents on the way that slowed me down. But, on a good note, as I was sitting still in traffic, I was able to put a fresh coat of polish on my nails. I have a dentist appointment at 2 today, I am leaving work at 12:30, unless my old boss gest ahold of me for lunch as i told him I was available from 12-1:15 for lunch if he had time. I have 3 new bill analysis to work on today, which is tight since I am working both a half day today and tomorrow, so I will be busy this morning trying to get the first drafts to my directors. Its amazing that they expect a 3 day turn around time on these things. I have been lucky that everyone so far has been one filed and analyzed in previous legislative sessions, but I am sure there will be brand new ones soon and this is the first time I have done these types of things.
Anyways, I am hoping to get some time in at the YMCA before my dental appointment, it'll depend on lunch. Then I'll pick up Madison, head to the chiropractor's office, then go pick up Emma from school. Tonight is more laundry, cleaning and paperwork for DH.
Have a great one!
Good morning! It is so dreary outside. I'm trying not to let it affect my mood. Laundry is going (and it will be all day), dishwasher is empty and for once I didn't have a backlog of dishes waiting to refill it! Zeph is still asleep. He goes to bed at 9 and is asleep within 10 to15 minutes. I'm just stunned at how much sleep he is needing!
I have some housework (cobweb removal, dusting, and vacumming) to tackle before school so we won't start until after lunch. He'll probably work until dinner. Tonight we are watching Glory since he is learning about the 54th Massachusetts. There is something about Matthew Broderick that irks me, so I hope I enjoy the movie.
I love how you put on a fresh coat of nail polish while stuck in traffic- now THAT'S multi-tasking!
Not much going on here today, it's raining like crazy. The in-laws are supposed to be coming over later this evening so we can do some pre-planning for our Orlando vacation coming up in a couple weeks. So I should probably clean up a little bit....bleah.

iVilliage is working for me today. So I'll post something.
No- didn't get the job I interviewed for last week. Sigh. The hours though were 1-9, and when I asked Becca if she wanted me to work them, she said "not really". And now I don't know if I apply for anything else right now or not. There is one thing I could do and probably get. But- Pearson sent me an email at the beginning of the month for a month-long project in March, and if I did that whole one I'd probably get put on another week long or so project after that. I don't really mind the work, I really like the people, and the pay isn't bad either.
Then Kristen calls. Why? She needs stuff. That she forgot when she was here for a month. And I'm guessing she kind of doesn't want to go to Walmart herself and get it. SIGH. Since I'm going to have to do a run for school stuff for Becca (2nd semester started yesterday and she's got 3 new classes) it's not much more to get her stuff. I'm thinking I might make her pay for the postage (such a mean mom LOL)
And Becca bothered her on Saturday. I guess she was in the Mac lab trying to study (with the guy she likes? Riiiight) Becca got on facebook with her, and proceeded to bother both of them. THEN she called Kristen's phone and talked to Kristen (and this guy- he answered her phone?) I don't know. I really think they both like each other- she was talking about him again to me. As long as they take it slow I'm fine with it.
Govenor's School auditions went ok. She won't hear back until March. Which is kind of annoying. They do scheduling for next year starting in Feb. So she makes up her schedule for next year- then she's got to go do it all over again if she gets into Govenor's school. Why? If they do this school (it's kind of like an arts magnet school) she'll only have 2 classes a semester. The other 2 bells she spends every day at this place. The mom that I talked to, her step-daughter's been in it for a year and a half now and LOVES it. Not to mention she'd get viola lessons, with a teacher who's a step up from the one she has. (I think she graduated from Julliard) She can still do school orchestra. She can still graduate with an advanced studies diploma.
All-State auditions are in a month. I told Becca she wasn't going to do the string program at James Madison this year. I know it's a lot of fun. But we are paying for a trip to Chicago with orchestra. She made the top orchestra last year, and there's no guarantee from year to year which one you'll be placed in- it's all on an audition. And, it's the same weekend someone has to go help Kristen move out of the dorms. The concert is on the SAME DAY as Kristen's move-out date. Underclassmen are done a couple of days before that, but she has to play at Commencement. And I have no interest in helping her move stuff- then taking the car full of stuff 2 hours north to James Madison THEN driving home. She was mad at first. But when I got an email about it a couple of days ago, and said she wasn't going- she said she was "ok with it".
It's crazy warm here today. Got all the windows open. It's going to storm tonight though, and the temp's going to drop 30 degrees.
Having a heck of a time with iVillage today and when I was finally able to post tim came home wanting some attention. LOL Then took me to lunch. So, now I am back. We has a two hour delay due to some nasty storms in the area. I made the kids a yummy breakfast. Traffice to the schools were crazy today. Kinda odd how from one day to the next how crazy it can or can't be. After dropping Matthew off I ran to Starbucks and treated myself to an iced mocha coffee. Took the long way home to avoid the traffic. Got some stuff taken care of for the bills and then Tim came home. We went to lunch and home again home again. I need to scoop a litter box but I am thinking of making one of the kids do it today. I need to load the dishwasher. I have been researching places to stay in the DC area and have found plenty of place betweem $50 to $300 to stay. We've got to weigh what we will be expected to pay if we stay at a cheaper place versus staying somewhere a little more but having free parking and within walking distance of all the attractions we are interested in. I am also excited about my interview tomorrow. I so so so hope I get this job even though it's on ther other side of town. I might be able to work it out where I only drive over there a few days a week so help save on gas. I also think Katie shared her illness with me. I started with a haeavy chest and coughing last night and today I am still coughing with a slightly sore throat. Just get me through this interview and then get sick. Maybe I will be able to start on Monday after that. Ugh. She did go back to school today. Not sure I already said that above. Today after school I need to run Matthew over to the comic store to pick up his new comic magazine that he has reserved every month. It was his Christmas gift from Natalie, he gets first crack at the new comic magazines of his choice. They set them aside for him, if he doesn't want them he lets them know and they put them out for public sale.
Dinner will be some kind of beef stew. I am looking for a new recipe instead of my same ole same ole. I need a change.
Hi everyone. Today was exhausting! I overslept by about a half hour and left for work feeling very rushed and not having eaten breakfast. Then our classroom teacher had her observation today so we didn't get our breaks in the morning, and our two most problematic students were hell on wheels today. Worst recess ever.
Ian had a regular school day. Kayleigh had school and NHS meeting.
Nothing going on for tonight. Right now, I'm baking cookies, then going to start on the sweet and sour popcorn chicken and hoping to have a mostly relaxing evening.

I would love the name of the place you saw for $50 a day. Even the youth hostel was $145 a night. If we go, we would stay for 5 nights and visit the Crime and Punishment Museum (with a lab), Fords Theater (with a lecture), a monument bike tour, Madame Toussads, Smithsonian Air and Space, Smithsonian Natural History, plus a revisit of the monuments at our leisure, Arlington Cemetary, and Mount Vernon. We would stop at Gettysburg for 2 days on our way home. DH thinks we should wait until 8th grade since that is a typical 8th grade trip.
DD just called needing to be picked up. I thought she eas staying to work on costumes for the play. School day went by quickly. Tonite I have a junior college planning meeting for DS. I was really hoping to just chill out at home as I have a really difficult class tomorrow. Not much going on.
