Ask me this a few years ago, and I would be annoyed and against it like the majority of you are. However the influenza has gotten just awful and a sickness that once made you just "sick" is now killing people. It is just another sickness that has gone rampant.

Yep Emily was one of the first in 94 to get the pox vaccine and she has never gotten them, I followed suit with the other two and they also have had them!

That is a great point about your kids not being as "favorable" to getting the flu.

I am all about getting a flu shot, BUT I do not think it should be a required vaccination. I think it should remain up to the parents whether they want their children to have it or not. I felt the same way about the chicken pox vaccination - that parents should be able to decide if they want their children to have it or not. I realize there can be complications with the flu or chicken pox, but come on.. to make them mandatory? Yes, my girls get flu shots (they skipped this year as I decided to have them do it for 2 years and take a year off - which turned out ok because apparently this year's shot isn't even close to the bugs going around, so they'd only have a 30% chance of it protecting them anyway!) and they've had the chicken pox vaccines.

My friend tells me that is Gabby had ever had the flu,I'd probably be pushing for her to get the shot. She has never had the flu, which is probaly why I've never gotten her the shot.Of course she has had other vaccines and has never had the disease, but I probaly tend to take the serious of the flu to lightly.Plus gabby dos not really have an allergies, other than a stuffy nose in spring and fall, and she also does not have asthma.

Did you get Emily the booster?

Gabby got the cp booster last year when cp was going around her school since everyone who was getting them, had had he shot, plus a booster is now required in my state.

Cp was definatly a shot I wanted Gab to have since I have a friend who has a sunken eye due to nerve damage on her eye nerves, from having cp as a kid.

I do think our generation does not alsways wan to vaccinae, because of fears, but since vaccinntios have been around we no longer see polio and its devistating effects,we rarly see stuff like whopping cough becaue of the vaccine.

I di think that for the most part vaccines should be required,Dale's niece who was born premaure was on all kinds of antibotic is kdg because a little boy in her class came down with whooping cough, because his pearents choose not to vaccinate,so he exposed 1/2 the class, the niece was vaccinated, but she had to be on preventive antiboics just in case, because whoooping cough would have killed her.A common cold can put her in the hospital for a week.
