Wednesday Wondering.....

Here is what I'm wondering today!
...Have you ever been late for an appointment?
...Do you tend to arrive early, on time or late for events?
...How do you feel when others are late or if they make you late for an engagement?
...Do you have an anecdote to share about tardiness?
...Is lateness always a bad thing?
...Have you ever missed an accident, tragedy or other mishap – simply by running late?

My responses:
...Have you ever been late for an appointment? Yes esp since I've had kids ;-)
...Do you tend to arrive early, on time or late for events? I try to arrive on time & I'd rather be early than late...usually end up waiting in the car for my laggardly DH ;-)
...How do you feel when others are late or if they make you late for an engagement? As I said above, its usually my DH (or oldest dd) that is the laggard....I like to be punctual since I expect others to be so I'm irritated when I'm late
...Do you have an anecdote to share about tardiness? Even my oldest now has become more aware of punctuality....DH leaving late caused her to show up at her first two summer lacrosse tournaments late so now she has started reminded DH not to make us late
...Is lateness always a bad thing? Nope. Some events its better to show up earlier...I hate crowds so when I know there will be a lot of people I prefer earlier so I can leave earlier too. Otherwise not such a big deal anymore
...Have you ever missed an accident, tragedy or other mishap – simply by running late? Not that I can remember, usually those mishaps happen when I'm running late ;-) or I missed them when I left earlier. This esp applies to my commute home via subway...earlier the better

Have you ever been late for an appointment? Probably
...Do you tend to arrive early, on time or late for events? Early
...How do you feel when others are late or if they make you late for an engagement? Really aggravated, but I try to be gracious
...Do you have an anecdote to share about tardiness? When I was still single, I had a friend who was notoriously (as in hours) late for everything. Whenever we had a party or some other event, we would tell it her it was an hour earlier. Then she'd only be a half hour late. Well one day we planned a surprise birthday party for her and she showed up early because she wanted to turn over a new leaf and start being on time for things.
...Is lateness always a bad thing? Nope. See below
...Have you ever missed an accident, tragedy or other mishap – simply by running late? Yes. This past June, my car might have been hit by a falling tree if I had left when I planned to leave. And my husband once left a suit and some important papers at home because he was rushing to catch a plane to NY. The next morning, he had to fly home to Boston to pick them up. If he hadn't forgotten those things, he would have been in NYC when the 9/11 attacks happened. His plane landed in Boston about 10 minutes before the first tower was hit.
