Tegan aged 13 reads every night for 45 minutes to an hour. This is something she has done since she learned to read at 4. She always has at least 2 books on the go. The child just loves to read! It is hard for me to keep up with what she is currently reading. I know she recently read To kill a mockingbird, the lovely bones and i think right now she is reading a book called us.
Kelsey aged 11 is a reluctant reader at best. She is a fantastic reader, reads beyond her grade level but i have to make her read every day. She has to read 2 chapters each day depending on the lenght of each chapter. Currently, she is reading the boy in the stripped pyjamas and the book thief. If i didn't make her read it would be rare for her to pick up a book on her own.

What is an AR test? We live in Canada and i am unfamiliar with that term?
What grade is Jackie in? Perhaps she refuses to do her assignments because she knows you will do it for her? I am sure you know this doesn't help her at all in the long run. If refuses to do it then she should accept her lumps and get the bad grade. I am guessing she knows how to get the good grades she just doesn't want to put out the effort to get them.

Alex likes to read and reads well but has a tendency to choose books below his reading level. I think it is because once he gets into a story he likes to finish it quickly. Rachel, who has autism,
