I have no problem with elective cosmetic surgery..up to a point! I had a tummy tuck after my second baby, losing 15 inches of loose, flabby skin around my abdomen. I didn't lose much, poundwise, but the boost to my self-esteem was well worth it! My M-I-L had her boobs done, but she was so flat and deflated that she didn't have ANYTHING...so sure, it was justified. What upsets me are teens getting boobs before they've finished maturing! Sure there are some who abuse it, but for average people I think it's great to have the chance to fix small things like this!

Certainly I believe in it for medical reasons - burn victims, etc.

I doubt I would do it myself, but I don't think it's horrible, as long as you can afford it.

I guess I really don't care what other people do, but I can't imagine myself having any done. I think it's ridiculous for teens to have stuff done (esp boob jobs).

I really don't understand why anyone would have breast augmentation. I really can't.

I don't understand why anyone would have surgery unless it was life or death---why risk complications.

I have never had any but I would. If I ever lost all the weight and had the money I'd get a tummy tuck and breast lift/reduction. I do think that people get "addicted" to it and think it will solve all their problems. There are people who have had so many operations they don't even look normal anymore and they can't see it. They want more and more and need to look like someone else. That's not healthy and my opinion not ethical of doctors to continue surgery on people like that. I also agree that no one should get anything done until they are 21 or so. The body is still changing.

I think people can go too far with it. I think if you have a really really good reason to get it done then go for it. Me personally I would love a tummy tuck and a breast reduction and lift. I'm too lazy to do 1000 sit ups a day for a flat stomach. Plus I have had 5 kids, I know this kangoo pouch isn't going down without some real help. About my boobs I wear a 38-40DD needless to say my back kills me, and after
