Wow, that's one I hadn't even thought about. Since they can still get the vaccine up until age 26, I think I'll let her decide later on. If it was something that had to be given between age 11-12, I'd probably consider it pretty carefully. We all know they're going to be sexually active later in life. I just don't know what the odds are for contracting the virus.
Isn't it kind of interesting that our kids also were the guinea pigs for the chicken pox vaccine? I knew a lot of parents at the time who didn't get the vaccine for their kids. We did. The odds of contracting chicken pox are VERY high. So it was worth doing.
