I Was Wednesday Wondering...

If you have stockings for your entire family?
And if so, what do each of them look like, are they
homemade or store bought, etc...

Just for the kids. Kayleigh actually has 2, someone made her a really nice green felt one with a puffy santa on it when she was a baby, then later on someone got her one of the standard red ones with her name in gold glitter, which is the same kind that Ian has.

Just for Quinn now. It's a really nice one that's in velvet & had Merry Christmas stitched on the cuff. Allen has one that I would fill too, but I'm not putting it up this year (he's been way too naughty). The other day, Quinn told me that I should get a stocking in case Santa wants to leave me something. I figured that Quinn is wanting to put a few things in it himself. It's that sweet? I might just have to get me one!

Just the girls have stockings...they are the cross-stitch ones from Land's End. I think one is of a Christmas tree & the other a snowman & they are hung on LE silver holders.

We all have hand knitted stockings my Mom made. They are all the same with our name on them. Mine is from when I was little. It's probably 35 years old!

I made Dd's stocking but she didn't get to use it until her second Christmas. LOL I is a complicated pattern of an old fashioned Santa in counted cross stitch and it also incorporates ribbon in it backed in dark green satin. Its quite small, smaller than many, but its got her name on it. My stocking is the one I always had as a kid. Its pretty ugly really but my neighbor made it. Its plain Royal blue with my name done in Red and the back is this weird yellow polka dot flannel. But I always hang it up. I have some other stockings I hang up, one I got form the Marrriott hotel of all places at a Christmas party and one fuzzy one with a puppy on it.

Until the last year or so we never did stocking for adults. But now I toss a few things in for her Dad and I. (It would never occur to him to do it. LOL) So he gets either the Marriott or the puppy one. This year I didn't hang the Marriott stocking so he'll be the puppy.

We have one for everyone. They are a variety of store bought ones that are mostly red. Alex has a 3' stocking that he spotted in a store last year .

we make stocking for everyone including grandparents. We put all sorts of kitchen gagets to picture frames to wooden spoons. Anything that they might not buy for themselves. Hand lotion and soaps to candy and gift certificates. The only strange thing that these stockings are; They are not stockings at all. They are sometimes gift bags, or baskets, or even boxes. One year they were wrapped up in towels. We try to get creative but they have never been a sock. lol

Only the boys have stockings. Andrew's is pretty long and knitted by Dh's great aunt. It is red and green. Austin's is a bit shorter by it is very nice. I can't remember where I bought it on his first Christmas but it has a needle point front of a Christmas scene with a train.
