My dh is an engineer by education, he's always been involved in construction management.

We own a small construction business, mostly doing land clearing and land restoration.

The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn.

My husband is an engineer. He designs small components that go into larger electrical systems. At the moment he works for a small company fifteen minutes from home, and they design and sell network cabling and connectors.

DH is a business financial manager for the US Navy. He is a civilian and works in a submarine program office -- prepares budgets, signs contracts, travel orders, work orders w/shipyards, etc. The ironic thing is he has a music degree, his major was actually jazz guitar ;-) but he ended up doing this to pay bills when the music career didn't pan out. He still plays guitar for his own enjoyment.

DH is a Corpsman in the US Navy. Right now he is fulltime staff at a reserve center here in Missouri. He keeps the Reservists medical records up to date and when it is the drill weekend he gives them any immunizations they need or arranges physicals for them and such.

He is self-employed. He sells minerals and crystals over the internet and at different shows around the country (and Japan). He certainly doesn't make loads of money, but enough to keep himself alive. He is also an artist (oils and watercolors) but I have no idea if he has been selling much in that department or not. To be honest, we don't discuss each other's finances.

I do enjoy the fact that he is self-employed and has the flexibility to have her at his place more often than a 9-5 dad would. It really cuts down on the cost of childcare in the summer and at times like Christmas.
