I Was Wednesday Wondering.....

Will your tween/teen be getting a new back pack this school year?
Do you buy them a new one each year?
How much will you spend?

If you have bought a new one, post a picture of it!

She did get a new backpack this year, but she had the same one for 2 years. Its still perfectly good but I paid less than $20 for it so I thought no biggie to get a new one for a change. If it falls apart she can go back to the old one. She saw in the supermarket and again, it was $20. It is baby blue and white, her other one was pink and white. Very similar to this one but instead of black, imagine its white.

I normally buy them new backpacks every year out of necessity. This year I ordered Land's End backpacks for all three children. I spent quite a bit, but I have every reason to believe I will get my money's worth.

Here is Isaiah's backpack....Lands' End - ClassMate™ Wheel Packbut it's navy blue.It should be arriving anyday now...

Yes, both boys will get a new backpack even though Brandon's is still like new. He never really liked the style because it has the drawstring top. I do get them new back packs each year and last year I think I spent $20 bucks on Matthews and $16 on Brandon's. I haven't purchased a new one yet because I wanted to wait until I go shopping with them so they can pick out what they like. It will probably be next weekend, I hope there are some left! LOL!

I still have to investigate whether last year's book bag is in good enough shape to use this year.

None of my girlies will need a new backpack this year. They got good ones last year after several years' worth of buying the cheapie WalMart ones.

The backpacks are in great shape w/ no obvious wear. And hey... the zippers didn't break. What a nice change from the ones we've gotten them in the past that seem to get ragged before the half-way point of the school year.

I know my DS is using the same one. I'm not sure about DD yet. Hers would probably be ok, but I think she needs one that is a little bigger. If we see something, I'm sure we'll buy it. I usually don't buy new backpacks every year. Only if they need it.

I bought DD a new "backpack" a week plus ago. School started a week ago. I generally get her a new one every year, but not if it's in good shape. (DS didn't need a good one, so I didn't bother this year.) Mostly it's because she wants rolling backpacks. Unfortunately I don't have good experience with those and they usually self destructor before the end of the year. Last year I told her she would have to go back to using her previous years backpack when the rolling one broke. (About April) She had a good backpack (a 2 year old lands end model) that is still is great shape.

But she really wanted/needed a rolling pack as they don't have lockers and as junior high kids have to lug around so much junk. (I am annoyed to find out the kids don't get lockers in our new school...Our school is moving to a brand new building in Oct... that's another post.) So this year I spend the extra money and got a JanSport rolling pack. It turns out the model DD liked had no backpack handles and saved me a bit of $$ because of.

Personally I think it's ugly. It's pink argyle. But DD loves it. Click on the pink to see it.

Nope. Ds is using still using the one I bought for him to start Kindergarden with. He'll be in the 8th grade this year. I paid $60 for it from LL Bean. Not bad considering it's going into it's 9th year.
