Woo hoo! Dh is now the top dog at work! No title or payroll position yet but he's the go to guy during the transition. One of the investors/partners messaged him last night and said he wanted to sit down with him today and talk about getting him a weekly paycheck!!!!

Whine: The house is full of everyone's junk, the kids are gone and dh is spending extra time at work leaving me to clean and prep for Evan's high school advisor's visit next Tuesday evening.

Worries: Will the paycheck promise come through and kick in soon enough to get us out of our financial tight spot? We owe mortgage, swimming fees, and music tuition by Sept. 1.

Whatever: spending way too much time watching the Olympics..

Woohoo!  Curtains getting hung today and blinds are finally ordered!

Whines: sick of religious zealousness among my fellow homeschoolers--we are suppose to greatfully listen to their dogma, but Zeph has to watch his words not to quesiton the existnece of a god or expose their kids to sinful ideas like evolution and an old earth . Why are they so threatened by the thoughts of a child?

Worries: just committed myself to driving to Skokie once a week for 6 weeks- great opportunity for Zeph, but already the drive (2 hours each way if traffic) is overwhelming

Whatever: house is a mess and probably will stay that way until we are moved out

I get what you're saying about having to listen to others but not having your ideas/beliefs heard. My kids have had to sit and listen to other parents explain Hannukah and Eid year after year in a public school. I thinks it's great and necessary that they learn about varied religions and I'm glad they were exposed to it. My objection is that there is no way the school district would let me go in and explain that Christmas is not Santa and gifts but a message of peace, hope, and joy. Grrrrr! I'm not trying to "save" anyone or convert anyone. Just equal time and consideration...

It's the idea that Zeph and his ideas (which he is not walking aournd spouting, but do come up in conversation occassionally and he is respectful) are dangerous to the moral fiber of their kids. It's like they fear their children hearing an opposing thought will make their kids drop their entire belief system. That doesn't seem very faithy. If your kid can say that Noah sailed on the ark with dinos, my kid should be able to disagree and give a counter opinion.

Totally get it. Anything different is to be feared and considered "bad" or threatening. What kind of human community does that promote? I was always taught at Sunday School that everyone is loved and deserves to be treated respectfully (which would mean letting them voice an opinion) no matter what.

Woohoo!   Jordyn texted!!!!  She was named Top All American for the 2nd straight year at cheer camp.  I am so dang proud of her!!!

Whines:  nothing today, too excited, okay, well maybe whiney because I know Jordyn will "yell" at me if I put it on my FB about her honor!

Worries:  Jordyn's feet from her eczema, I am afraid to see what it looks like when she gets back as I know she wouldn't have wrapped them today if they weren't pretty bad.

Whatever:  Jordyn's coach in general, hoping this cheer season is a smooth one
