We were in Target yesterday getting dorm "stuff". She wanted one of those storage ottomans. I remembered that I had this 25 year old trunk in the attic that I took to school- asked her if she wanted to look at it. She said sure. I thought she'd say it was a piece of junk and want nothing more to do with it.
Took one look at it and she said "OMG- how cool!" LOL. It's so retro LOL. Then she said "Mom- it looks like one of the trunks that Harry Potter took to Hogwarts- I gotta get a Hogwarts sticker" LOL.
Ugly as sin. But hey- it's out of my attic. And if it doesn't come back home- I will not be unhappy.

Congrats on Kirsten's scholarship and how exciting that she's leaving for college in two weeks. In a year that'll be me. I hope you enjoy her last two weeks at home and that the transition to college will be smooth and wonderful
Who hoo!- Kristen leaves for school in 16 days. Yeah we're kind of sad, but she kind of needs to live on her own for a bit.
And Kristen got a $500 scholarship yesterday that we'd forgotten about (see previous post)
Worries- she's friended her roommate on facebook. They're going in together on a microfridge. What the heck happens if the roommate situation doesn't work out? Do we get our money back? Yeah I know I'm over worrying- but out of the 6 people we know who have had roommates freshman year (me included) 5 of them had enough "drama" that it didn't work out.
Whines- I so don't want to go to the in-laws. Sigh. The time would be just SO much better if we could just get a hotel room instead of staying with them. Mil would be so hurt though. So I guess we just deal with the drama. Sigh.
Whatever- over doctor appts. It took the kids over an hour at the dentist today (they were running late). Dermatologist tomorrow. I have an eye appt then I'm running to a job open house that I'm not sure just how qualified I am for...............
Woohoo! Yesterday was finally payday - been working for four weeks and finally saw some money. And when I got my car inspected, it did NOT need tires.
Worries: Dh/lack of job/lack of money
Whines: I really need to clean
Whatever:I keep forgetting that Ian is not home
Woohoo! Hmmm... not feeling it at the moment
Worries:I can't believe it, but I had my first accident - for which I was totally at fault- two days ago. I was leaving the eye doctor and blinking to get my contact settled (had just put it back in) and hit a brand new car. UGH! Dh has been unbelievably sweet, but it will cost us about $1500. We decided to not report to insurance after weighing pros and cons. Luckily, the lady I hit was very, very nice.
Whines:Between the car, activity/sport fees, dd19's tuition and apartment... I feel like we're spending money about twice as fast as we make it.
Whatever:Oh well, it is just money
Woohoo! I know there are some, I am just not coming up with any at the moment...
Worries: Emma's new anxiety towards starting kindergarten, I know its normal, I just hope it goes smoothly
Whines: DH's work schedule, I hardly ever see him anymore except for the lump in the bed at 4 a.m.
Whatever: Cheerleading drama
Woohoo! Vacation plans are coming together
Worries:I'm coming down with a cold
Whines: DH's travel schedule looks like I might be managing the move on my own
Whatever: the move- just want it done with
