Hoping to have a nice relaxing long weekend!  Today I have a bunch of projects to work on at work.  Its a skeleton crew day in the afternoon, so it should be pretty quiet for me to get lots of work done.  Jordyn has dinner and a footbal game tonight.  I thought it was home and we were going to skip the game, but its away, so we're definitely not going.  So she won't be home til late tonight.

Tomorrow, I am going to take the girls across town to the other YMCA to get their swim testing done to find out which lessons i can sign them up for.  Tomorrow is the last day to sign them up for the September saturday lessons, hopefully the classes they test into aren't full already, maybe I'll call today to check.  then we'll hang out at the pool for a while since its supposed to be 100 degrees again.  Jordyn has to work from 1-5 and lots of laundry and cleaning to do.

Sunday, not real sure, Jordyn has stunting at the gym at 5:00 to get a few last videos ready for the college team she is looking at.  And then she is babysitting while DH and I have a date night Sunday evening.

And Monday, just hanging out, cleaning, and if we can find a pool that is open, we'll go hang out at the pool for a few hours in the afternoon.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Kinda of a crazy morning.  All three kids put off their showers until this morning.  If I had known that I would have let Natalie take that shower at 10:30 last night.  But it worked out alright.  They were quick about it.  Got the girls off and tried to take Matthew but we left too late.  We got stuck at the light across the street from his school.  After the third time we were going to sit through it I had him hop out and walk over to the side walk to walk into school.  He wasn't happy but it;s not be happy and be on time or be just plain 'ole late for no reason other then traffic and that isn't a good enough excuse.  I scooted over into the right turn lane and got myself out of there.  Picked up an iced mocha.  My mom is coming over later just to hang out.  We have volleyball practice tonight.

Dinner will be either baked fish or fried.  I haven't made up my mind.

Saturday, no volleyball games.  I am going to watch my Huskers football at 2:30!  So excited!  Since moving here I am lucky if they show them on TV and they will be on a lot this season.  YAY!  Nothing else planned.

Sunday, church and maybe going out for lunch with my family.

Monday my friends and I are talking about getting all our kids together.  We use to get them together a lot when they were little.  We all have a lot.  LOL  Naw, it's a lot after they all get together though.  They each have girls Matthews age and then one has twins a year younger then Katie & Natalie and my other friend has a son a year younger then Matthew and twin boys same age as Katie and Natalie.  So they are all close in age.  Matthew is the oldest boy but the one a year younger is a good friend of his.  It's a great group of kids.  Love them all.  They all might come over here and hang out.

Monday, if they all come it will be 10 kids. All teens or pre-teens. They will all be teens in the next couple of years. Hard to believe.

Morning all... Blah! I'm hoping today is better than yesterday. Evan was just a jerk to everyone from 4:00 on. Fortunately I had curriculum night so got a break from 6-9. He's still in a mood this morning. Of course, it's all my fault because I came in to the exam room at the doctor's office while the nurse did the height, weight, what are your symptoms thing. I voluntarily left when he needed to change and during the exam. He also didn't like the fact that the doctor asked me for the okay to start him on antibiotics while waiting for test results. Excuse me, you're not 18 yet, she needs my permission... Whatever...

Curriculum night... I really don't like these things. They are necessary but I'm not sure what anyone gets out of them. The teachers don't really like to do them though they put on a happy face and do a very good job. Parents are so rushed they don't even get a chance to absorb any of the information the teachers are throwing at them at rapid pace because they only have 10 minutes...

Oh, and my dad decided to have his heart surgery in September instead of waiting until January. I'm glad because there's less time for something severe to happen before the surgery, the weather will be better for driving and recovery, and my brother has some time off so he can be at my parents' house to help out. It's going to be a rocky fall season that will probably slide right into
the holidays...

I'm hoping today is smoother and happier. Everyone is gone so there is peace and quiet at least. Evan is planning to grab dinner after school, head to the football game, and then maybe go to a friend's house for a little bit. Megan doesn't have any plans at the moment except to pack. She and I are headed to my parents' so she can volunteer at the barn Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. Dh has a house warming to go Saturday. Nothing really planned for Monday but I do have some ribs in the freezer and corn I'm hoping to cook for dinner.

Tonight is supposed to be date night but Dh's office is moving and he's been working late the last several days so I'm not counting on it...

Sorry to be such a downer. Just that kind of day. Time for an attitude adjustment. I may just have to drown my troubles in a burger and fries for lunch.

Enjoy the long weekend everyone!

Paid bills.  I do hate that chore.  I sent a thank-you email and test results to the temp agency.  I really, really REALLY hope they call me back.  LIttle bit of money it is- it would just SO help around here........

Becca and the BF want to "double date".  There's 2 other kids at church that they're kind of friends with- and the guys want to see Batman.  Well, the mom of one of the boys would rather have an adult go with them.  It really doesn't matter- all but Becca are freshman and none of them can drive anyways.  And even if they could- that's too many kids in one car.  She said she might have something to do, dh said he might like the movie, so dh and I (providing he's home in time) get to be chaperones.  Becca said "Mooommm- can you guys at least sit somewhere else in the theatre?  LOL.

I think Saturday at least dh and I are going to do the water park one last time.  We have these season passes that haven't been used that much.  Part of it is that we've been busy, part of it is the girls' attitude, and part of it is that it's rained A LOT this summer.  I don't care if Becca just sits here and plays with her phone all day.  It closes on Monday and someone is going to go LOL.

Sunday is church. Monday is nothing.

We won't go see Kristen until parent's weekend the end of Sept.

Hi all! I can't believe we are counting down the last few days til the kids go back to school and I go back to work. It's been a glorious summer.

I went food shopping this morning. Ian did a little cleaning for me and is finishing up his final copy of his summer reading reports.  My sister will be here in about an hour. She, Ian and I are going to spend the afternoon at the lake.  It'll be Ian's and my last hurrah there, I can't believe we're done for the season.

Kayleigh left yesterday with a group of teens from our 4H group.  She is doing face painting at the state fair, and should be home around dinner time on sunday.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a perfect beach day, so Dh, Ian and I will make a final trek to Long Island and spend the day at Jones Beach.

Sunday, the guys will be home doing whatever.  I am meeting my sister's in the city. We are having brunch at my niece's new apartment, and then going to visit our Aunts, 90 and 100 years old.

Monday, nothing really planned. We'll probably catch a movie and get a final summer ice cream and just chill.  I go back to work on Tuesday, the kids go back to school Wednesday

We were all up bright and early. I cleaned-dusted, kitchen, bathrooms (minus shower and tub)-floors are still to go, but I'm going to wait on them until we are done with all the in and out.  DH and DS took care of some much needed yard work-lots of yard decorations to take down inluding rusted shepherd hooks for feeders and planters.  No wonder, she has so many critters in the yard-the bird seed  was not kept n an animal proof container-problem solved!    DH has some work to do and then he'll be back and forth all weekend brInging over odds and ends.  I'll be fnding places for them.

The garage is the next large project to tackle.  I have 5 piles of crap (not mine)to do something with.  Some can go to GoodWill-hoping today.   Some needs to wait for the metal collector next week, but most of it is garbage.

Lots of laundry to do to get DH ready for his Amsterdam trip.  I need to do a large grocery store trip and a Target trip.  The office needs to be assembled so we can atrt school in earnest next week. Not a lot of fun planned, but it will feel good to be settled.

Heather, glad you are starting to feel settled a bit! I wanted to thank you for the quinoa suggestion, I made some last weekend, boiled it in coconut milk and then added the mango, coconut and almonds (forgot to get edemame at the store) and I really like it!! There is a slight bitter after taste to the quinoa, but I think its becuase I am not draining it well enough after letting it soak overnight. I need to get a good metal strainer for it. Oh, and I am going to PM you in a bit, I have a couple of other questions for you if you don't mind.
