Tam and Kristen (11) in Ottawa, Canada

Kristen's backpack is just a basic one that is baby blue and white. It has lots of pockets though which we liked in her last one. Its got a section for the homework, a section for her lunch bag, then a pocket for her phone and keys. Pockets pockets, pockets. Her lunch bag has two compartments because she has two lunch breaks. It took some searching but I found two and we actually bought both because one usually ends up falling apart by spring and you can never find them then. I don't remember what colors they are. Maybe one is purple and one blue. No idea. LOL

What hours is your DD in school? What is the schedule for the two lunch breaks? Just curious, I have never heard of that before!

Pookiesmom is here, along with DH, DD (6th grade) and DS (preschool) in Massachusetts. Kids return to school the last week of August. DD will use the backpack she received for winter holidays last year. It's a pack from LL Bean that should last her a good long while. Her previous pack lasted 6 years (from Kindergarten through 5th grade)...a pretty darn good investment if you ask me.

Hi I am Dawn dh is Doug.I have my oldest ds who is 12 and starting 6th grade this Monday the 21st.I have another son David who is 8 and going into 2nd grade. We live here in North Texas.

I bought Devin a new backpack this year. One rolling backpack from LLBean. He carried the critter tracks one from 2nd-5th grade and still could have carried it this next school year.It has held up so well but he has a lot of books to bring home and on top of that starting back to school with a broken arm. He will have the cast on till Aug 31st.Oh and he is in band this year so he will have to bring an instrument back and forth. The backpack is really big so maybe it will fit in there as well.

Lynn with twin dd & ds (6th grade). They will be using their old LL Bean backpack...those things never die! They actually looked around at backpacks at the local stores and just couldn't find anything better than the bean bags!
