I'll post the bad first. - My little pumpkin is still pulling her hair. Although it's not as bad as before. It's still bad.
This morning she missed the bus because she dilly dallied around.
The good - She's having a gr8 time in school so far. Likes her teachers, a couple of her friend from the elem. school are in her class, she can open her locker, she can find her class. So far so good
Tonight we are going nothing. I'm so tired. Poor me! Sat. night we are going to see American Idol. Yeah! We have really good tickets. Can't wait to see Chris rock the house down.
Sunday/Monday we are going out on DH's parents boat with my mom and her husband. Should be a good time, crabing and claming.
Caroline I must've missed this, I didn't know Hannah was a hair puller. My ydd would had a habit of twisting it around her finger then pulling. As a result clumps came out; first at her preschool then we'd find it on the rug next to her bed.
We had to bring some in for the dr to test because she was afraid something was wrong w/Jamie but tests were ok. Just for some reason she had picked up this habit (she has fine hair like my DH so her hair breaks easily). So I hope that H eventually stops pulling on her own!
Yep, she's my little puller. It started March of last year. She started pulling at the crown of her head and just worked her way around. She's been in cognitive behavior therapy since May of last year. She's been diagnosed as having Tricotillomania. Opps! I can't remember how to spell it.
Her therapist tells us Hannah is doing gr8 and that she'll have some set backs. That's where we are now. We have good weeks and then a little set back and then...... I feel so bad for her. Like today I asked her if she caught herself pulling and she said, yep. I told her it must be hard. She said, you have no idea how hard it is mom. *sigh*
They say it's genetic. I twist my hair. If I don't have my hair pulled back I just twist and twist. I love it! It feels so good. but, I've never pulled the hair. I don't think it feels that good. LOL
Connor started school this week. He seems happy and loves spanish class. He's in the 8th grade.
He broke his glasses today and in a way it was a blessing. I went to get his prescription out and realized it was a year and a half old. His doctor was great and squeezed us in for an appointment (we are talking 15 mins between my calling in a panic and them seeing him). His presciption strength had actually doubled. No wonder he had been getting headaches. So off we went to lenscrafters (because he can't see without glasses and his others were totally busted and not fixable). Two hours later we have a frame he likes and lenses he can actually see out of. Then it's off to the church youth group from there. Dh will be picking him up later, it's his pool night with this co-workers.
For now I'm trying to settle in. I'm tired and I have to dog sit for an elderly neighbor this weekend. Unfortunatly that means bringing the dog here, as she is concerned her pooch will be lonely. I don't mind, the dog is an older dog, not hyper and very well mannered. She just stinks of cigarette smoke. Think anyone would mind if I bathed her?
Aside from that I have nothing else to do this weekend. Dh will be working most of it (contract work).
