Our week's been very quiet. LOL... too stinkin' hot to do anything outdoors. You know it's too hot when you drive through the neighborhood and don't see any kids playing outside.
The only thing we did this weekend was get the girls' haircuts. I haven't even gone grocery shopping yet. I was holding off until today when it's supposed to be cooler than the rest of the week, or at least not in the high 90's-100 degrees.
We don't have any plans for the weekend, either. How boring is that?! LOL!
Its been a pretty good week except for this stomach bug that is STILL lingering. I was sick on Monday so only worked 2 days this week. I could get used to that. LOL Kristen was at her Dad's and came home Wed. and spent the afternoon with me at work. She was super and kept busy on the computer all afternoon while I worked. Today we are leaving for 3 nights camping and the weather should hold.
No real vents, everything seems to be pretty good this week. Well a break in the heat would be nice but since I got my a/c I don't care quite so much.
1. moved into the new apartment, still unpacking, but so psyched about it! 2. I have a dishwasher now, YAY!!! 3. DH and DD are getting along very well this week. 4. Got burnt at Six Flags, but had a nice time 5. oh yah, and DH's brother and his family get into town this weekend, they are moving into town and arrive today!!
Not much going on this weekend, DH is going out with buddies on last time before deploying, Jordyn has a birthday party on Sunday afternoon, I am still unpacking the house, that is about it. Movie night tonight, or maybe we'll go see a movie as a family tomorrow night.
My girls were a little cranky this wk but given the hot weather it was totally understandable, LOL.
Tomorrow I'll probably take the girls to the library to finish up the summer reading program. I'm also taking the girls to the Univ. of MD for a parent/daughter basketball clinic from 2-6pm. DH has told me he's going to mow the lawn so I guess all of us will be tired 2morrow evening ;-) Sun I will try & get the girls to finish up their book report/reading/math packets for school. I tried last night & got a little resistance but since we'll be at the beach the wk before school starts I want them to have it done before then IYKWIM.
This week has been okay, with spurts of being busy..Mostly getting ready for school to start in a little over a week. You'd think that I'd enjoy it,but it's not fun buying for a picky preteen!!Everything I liked, she didn't&everything she liked, was too short.lol..Isn't that how it usually works?/The girls had hair&dental appts...Oh,and watched Big Brother..Both my girls like this show alot..
Our week was ok. We've had better, then again, we've had much worst.
The bad... A very close friend of mines cancer is back for the 3rd time. A week before she turned 40 (about 5 years ago) they found ovarian cancer. She's almost 45 now & they've found it in the lymph nodes around her heart. So, yesterday she started chemo...again. We found termites & are going to have to have a treatment for them. $1200. The guy is coming out on Monday to do the treatment. I've got to cut back a huge rose bush & a few others so they can drill, plus move all the stuff off of our front porch. Then crawl under the house & move out some lumber (per termite man's suggection) & other stuff. I had no idea that there was anything under there. I've never been in the crawl space. Not looking too forward to it, but it's got to get done. On Wed., we found out that my sons guitar teacher isn't going to be able to teach him anymore. I've already made a call to another guy about giving him lessons. Just waiting to hear back from him. Our sweet dog, Snoopy (a foxhound) started having problems walking on the laminate floor in our kitchen/dining areas. It's so bad, that at times all 4 legs would go out on him. Then he couldn't get up & would just lay there whinning. Bless his heart! I have to pick him up & help him to the door. (He weighs about 60 lbs.) Today I tool him to the vet (it took Quinn & I about 15 mins. just to get him in the car). He has arthritis in his back hips. The vet did a blood screen. If no problems show up with it, I start him on a medication for it on Monday. I've got my fingers crossed that it will help him. I had an interview last week with a company that I was really hoping to get a job with. I had a message on my answering machine this afternoon that they went with someone else. Ugh! I need a job bad & can't find a decent one around here. My son & I may end up having to move to another state where a great one is basically mine if I want it. Great pay & great benefits.
The good... Quinn, my mother & I are leaving for Florida on Wed. We will be gone almost a week. My brother is getting married next weekend. So getting ready for that trip has been exciting. I found a hundred dollar bill that my husband had 'hid'! I've already spent most of it. (I wonder if he has anymore money hidden?) I have been wanting a labeler. Target had one I had been looking at so sale for $13. Everywhere else (including Walmart) was around $20, plus the cartrg were on sale too! (It doesn't take much to excite me sometimes.) I bought a new DVD, 'Monty Python's Holy Grail'. Quinn & I have already watched it twice. Too funny. Funnier than I remembered. Quinn & I picked blueberries yesterday. We picked a lot of berries. I froze enough baggies full for us to have blueberry pancakes 29 times in the coming year. We had blueberry pancakes this morning for breakfast. Yummy! Quinn went to a neighbors house this morning that was having a yardsale. He bought 7 PS2 games for $1 each & 3 dvd's. Then he asked me to take him to Game Stop this afternoon to trade them in. He's been wanting the new 'Jaws' game. (He can't play it will I'm in the room. I get scared too easily.) Anyway, after he traded most of the games & dvd's in that he bought this morning (they wouldn't take them all), the game (new, $30) ended up costing him $6.09. We had a cookout tonight for his neighborhood friends. Just hot dogs & sides. They are all still here playing outside in the dark. A couple of them are playing with the new Jaws game in the other room. I'm scared to go in there. I'm afraid I'll see that scary Jaws shark! Yikes!
We don't have big plans this weekend. I'm thinking about us going to a Warthogs baseball game tomorrow night. We've only been to 4 or 5 games this summer. Tomorrow during the day, I'll be cutting back rose bushes & getting ready for the termite treatment. Whee.

It's Friday night and we are on our way back from Yellowstone.
We had a fabulous family vacation. We'll be home sometime Sat. where we'll unback. Hannah will pack up for her youth group camp out.
The bad was we nit picked each other a little too much this vacation. It gets kinda hairy when your tent camping. KWIM?
My DH says he couldn't believe I made it almost a full week tent camping with all the dirt and such. Hey, I'm not that much of a princess.
