Today is the Marine Corps Birthday and this weekend is the big Birthday Ball. It's a huge three day event and I'm STILL not ready! My formal ballgown is on a UPS truck that did't bring it last night as scheduled, better arrive this morning cause I'm cutting it close on the timing! HAHA!! Have to finish packing and have it in the car by 8am or I have to drag it all to the hotel myself....so here I am on the computer instead! Kids are arranged for, have the makeup bag ready to go...sheesh I even got my hair colored and nails put on, what's happening to me? Have an airport pickup at noon, still have to buy 1000 hershey kisses and confirm dinner reservations for 15 people. OH yeah and hubby decided last night we should have a small social hour before the official coctail hour and can I come up with some easy snacks to serve in our suite tomorrow evening?
Can I just crawl back into bed and pretend it's not here yet?
Quinn & I have had a good week. He had his basketball try outs on Monday night. On Tuesday morning we left early for Florida (where we are right now). Wednesday we went swimming, then visited a couple of neighborhoods that seem like would be a nice place to live. We visited a park. Yesterday we hung around here. Swam awhile. I caught up on the laundry for my brother & sis-in-law. Quinn mowed their yard & together we did some yardwork. I cooked supper (quiche...made an extra to go in the freezer for them to have when the baby comes) & we just hung around & visited. Today...Quinn & I are going to some yardsales (they have the best yardsales around here!) & maybe to a flea market that suppose to be huge. It's in Sanford & claims to be the biggest in the US. Then later, my brother & sis-in-law are (hopefully) getting off work early. We are going to the Vans Skatepark. They want to see Quinn skateboard. Then out to supper. Tomorrow we are going to a park with natural springs. There is a resturant ('Sugar Mill') where you get to make your on pancakes (the table has a built in griddle in the middle of it). Quinn & Randy (my bro) love it. It's like being at home to me. LOL! Then we are going to go see if we can see any manatees in the rivers. We've never seen one in the wild so we are excited about that. Then we are going to some sort of showcase multi million dollar house that my brother has tickets for. His company did all the countertops. (It's a fund raiser for the Orlando Opera) I don't know how Quinn is going to like that. He likes Biltmore House in Asheville, so, maybe it will interest him. We'll see. Sunday, we have to get up early because I want to try to be on the road back to NC by 8am.
No! Don't crawl back in bed! Get your butt in gear. Sounds like it's going to be a fun event to me. If I was there, I would help you out. Have fun & let us know how it goes.
Samantha and I have had a so-so week.I have been very sick and so has Ds so Samantha has helped us alot while Dh is at work after school. She did great. We had to give our dog away yesterday as he was some of the cause for us not feeling well. That was very hard and very sad for Samantha. She loved that dog so very much.It sucks because her Birthday is tommorrow and we are just haveing family over no freinds because of us being sick.I hate doing that to her but will make it up over Christmas break and let her have 2/3 friends over for a new year slumber party.Other than have her party and football on Sunday(I work on the weekends)a nice weekend at home for us.
Week was pretty good. I passed my test Wed. so I was happy. Kristen was singing at school today with the choir and her class, it went well. Otherwise just a normal week.
Saturday and Sunday are lessons for Kristen. Monday I am off work and I am keeping her home from school and we are going to the Museum of Civilization and the Imax theatre. Looking forward to that.
