We have had a decent week!

My week S*****. On Sunday my BIL, literally, dropped dead. He was 47. While we knew he was sickly, and had been for years, this was quite unexpected. At home was his youngest (16 years old). The older two were in college, and the wife was on a flight back from Europe. My husband had to rush over to the house to be with the kids (they came right away), and wait for their mother. My husband then had to explain the situation to his nearly 90 year old father. We have had five days of drinking and mourning (we are Irish). Both my husband, and the widow have very large families, so there was always plenty of people around.
My kids came with us to the services - my husband wanted them there. As you can probably imagine, finding appropriate clothes for my tween was a challenge. The wake was on Wednesday, and the funeral was yesterday. My tween participated in the service, and was poised and charming. The funeral was on a beautiful day. It was warm and the leaves on the trees were in full color.
Today the widow planned on doing blender drinks, but I didn't think my liver could tolorate another day. I opted for coffee with another SIL.
The plan for the weekend is to try to get back to normal.
The week has been "okay". Really busy and a bit frustrating. School is so-so. We have been doing practice tests all week and I can't seem to get out of the mid-30's. We need 44 to pass and its very frustrating. Luckily I'm not alone. Trying to work on the costumes, just feeling a bit blah (PMS anyone?) Weather sucks too, cold and rainy all week.
This weekend we have a Halloween dance tomorrow night for families. Should be fun (if I get the costumes finished). We are skipping riding lessons because of the dance and Kristen has invited a friend to go with us and she will spend the night after. Then Kristen has curling on Sunday. I need to do some studying, some laundry, blah blah blah. You know, same old same old.
Oh My gosh "andover" that is terrible!
