Nope, you did EXACTLY what I would have done. I would want someone to correct my DD and tell me if it were me. She was probably embarassed because someone else did what she should have done. Oh

"I see London. I see France. I see your underpants." As silly as it sounds, that's what I would have said.

Sounds to me like you handle it well. You was just doing her a favor.

Well, I'd be torn between saying nothing and quietly mentioning "you know everyone can see your undies when you stand like that" and walking away. I mean at least she HAD undies on. LOL But then I'm that nosey mother who speaks out to other people's kids.

The other night two boys came looking for Kristen (a neighbor boy and her classmate). She wasn't home and they are walking away I noticed the classmate has no shoes on (its the end of October in Canada for pete's sake). So I say "Newton, WHERE are your shoes?" He mumbles "Somewhere over there." and waves his hand in the direction of the neighbor's house. So I say "Well put them on RIGHT now please." He further mumbles "okay" with head down. LOL So I'm not one to ignore a kid if they are doing something wrong or in need of a titch of parental guidance. So I'd likely say something and if I knew her, for sure I'd be saying something. Call me pushy, but if no adult tells kids that their behaviour is unaccaptable, how on earth can they know and correct it?

I think you were very considerate, actually. I would want someone to tell my child if her panties were showing, or if her nose was dirty, or her zipper was undone or any other thing that could cause embarrassment or danger. I also think that kids sometimes take it more seriously if another adult points something out, especially at that tween/early teen age.

But a lot of parents are insecure and think that if you point something out about their kid, you are criticizing them. So maybe one solution would be to whisper discreetly to the mother: "I don't want to embarrass your daughter, but I just noticed that her underpants are showing." That's the only thing I can think of that might have made the woman less angry, but it's hard to know, since she sounds like she had a really short fuse.

Good for you! I would hope to high heaven that some mom would tell that to my daughter instead of some pervert enjoying the show! I too would have said something like "Nice panties, you'd better cover them up!"
