I wouldn't have said anything. If the mom is okay with her dd going out in skirt short enough to see undies, she isn't concerned if someone actually sees them. Unfortunately many moms think their dd's look so cute in that stuff.

I got labelled the family square a few years ago when 3 of my nieces came to thanksgiving dinner in skirts so short they couldn't sit in them or move without their undies showing. Let's just say I happen to know which girls wear thongs :/

I told my sis and sil I was shocked at how they let them buy things like that. They laughed and told me it was all the stores sold and one day I'd be their with my dd. The other theme was that I must be jealous. I disagreed and think that is a common accusation when grown ups think kids are dressing too provocatively. I think it's not being respectful of yourself to draw attention to your private parts or underwear. It's asking for trouble. While they may be safe at thanksgiving, they may not be so safe walking across the parking lot at the mall without parents around.

I know my husband has a friend who jokes all the time about lusting after teenage girls. I don't want guys like that being tempted by my dd.
