I haven't done V-day in many years. We could never get a babysitter, or it was just too crowded to go out. I usually just buy the kids some candy, we also make cupcakes. Vday just isn't one of those things we get into.
It varies on what DH and I do sometimes I'll get a "good gift"(last year I received a diamond tennis braclet)but most years just flowers. I used to make him all sorts of goody bags but after 12yrs he's not that lucky anymore. This year I have to work on V-day but we are going to dinner with friends to celebrate the following weekend. As for my DD I usually get her a flower and balloon and bring it school when I pick her up. DH will usually bring her home a stuffed animal.
We don't usually celebrate Vday but this year I am catering to DH. For a few reasons, it will surprise him and my bday was SPECTACULAR so I'd like to recriprocate and can't until his bday(Aug).
So I bought a "Lovers Journal" that I have been filling out. It chronicles our "life" together. From dating up until now.....I am also taking him to a cooking class. He's always wanted to so that, so I signed us up for a Vday cooking class.
The kids always get a present. I write them letters and they get candy and a small gift. This year,I am not sure what the boys are getting but Jasmin is getting the MAC Barbie. I leave it on their dressers to find when they wake up in the morning.
Don't know right now. I'm kind of a scrooge when it comes to v-day. I don't think it should take a special day to tell someone you love them. I've also had just plain bad luck on that day. One year it snowed so hard dh (who was just dbf at the time) couldn't make it to take me to dinner. I spent Valentine's day on the bus home with a bunch of strangers. The year after that, I had a huge project going on at work and dh (again dbf at the time) came to keep me company all by myself in my dark, deserted office building.
Kids will get cards and a little something and dh is getting a magazine with ipod tricks and software info. Not romantic in the least but... I may burn him a cd of love songs off my itunes library. We'll see.
We do not celebrate Valentine's Day. It's just another day around here. Like someone else mentioned, why do we need a special day to tell or show someone we love them? I'd rather do it everyday than only do it on a certain day. I will be working that night and Dh has to work that day and the next. I don't think we've gone out or done anything for it since 1996 and we only did it then because our daughter was due soon. He bought me a heart shaped amethyst ring since her bday is in February (the 17th). Other than that? Nope. A lot of people think it should bother me, but it doesn't - I swear!

I'll bump this up next week. When I know more.
We started a tradition a couple of years ago of doing an I love you dinner for our family -
Basically we make (or buy) each person their favorite meal - for Lon it's steak with TONS of steak
