maybe the most popular.....

Rock-a-bye, baby,
In the tree top:
When the wind blows,
The cradle will rock;
When the bough breaks,
The cradle will fall;
Down will come baby,
Cradle and all.

I always like Wee Willie Winkie as a a kid.

Wee Willie Winkie runs through the town.

Upstairs and Downstairs

in his nightgown.

Rapping at the windows

Crying at the locks

Are all the children safe in bed

for now it's 8 o'clock

Hey! diddle, diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon;
The little dog laughed
To see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.

This one always makes me think of the Agatha Christie book/movie by the same name. I love the old Agatha Christie movies.

Sing a song of sixpence,
A pocket full of rye;
Four and twenty blackbirds
Baked in a pie;

When the pie was opened,
The birds began to sing;
Was not that a dainty dish
To set before the king?

The king was in his counting-house
Counting out his money;
The queen was in the parlor
Eating bread and honey;

The maid was in the garden
Hanging out the clothes,
When along came blackbird
And pecked off her nose.

Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake,
Baker's man,
Bake me a cake
As fast as you can;
Prick it and pat it,
And mark it with B,
And put it in the oven
For Baby and me.
