If your tween/teen wanted to be on this show, would you let them audition and try out?

If Jackie actually wanted to be on the show, which i doubt very seriously
my answer would be no.
I do not think that a child should be subjected to some reality cruelty just for ratings. Reality TV is not entertaining and in my opinion it exploits people in general.

I would have to say no...I was just saying yesterday to Kaitlyn that there are TOO MANY reality TV shows now!

OMG, this horrified me. This is too much! This is child abuse as far as I'm concerned. Pretty sad, really to exploit kids this way. Over the line. No way would I put my child through something like that!

I would not allow Kristen on a show like this. The only show I would allow is a game show/reality show called Endurance. It is on Discovery Kids and promotes teamwork, friendship, brains and physical strength to win challenges. It is also supervised by adults although you never see them, but I know they don't do the cooking themsevles and the camera work.

I think the other one just sets itself up for abuse. You are talking a WIDE range of kids. I can't imagine an 8 year old there alone with 15 year olds. I don't necessarily mean physical abuse, but kids who will abuse their power. It seems like the TV channels are just trying to find something more and more outrageous to draw in the audiences. They've done it all and people are bored with it so make it more extreme, cause some outrage to get press. Its a very sad statement on the viewing public I think. We never watch reality shows because really, its not the least bit real. Edited, staged and contrived situations do not reality make.

Of course, like everyone else, my answer would be a resounding NO!!! However I am sitting back and actually chuckling at the idea! I'm always grumbing about how strong my daughter is, bossy and take charge. I have to wonder if her common sense and leadership skills would actually shine in a situation like this or if she'd fall apart from the unorganized chaos around her!

In the book the boy's "society" broke down into total anarchy and lawlessness . Not something I would want my child to be a part of.
