Just curious, what kind of school do your children go to?
Public, private, or homeschool? Or some other kind I didn't mention?
My 12 and 10 yr. olds go to public. Their schools recently got the Ca. Distinguished Schools award...which is good, because I know Ca. schools aren't very good according to statistics!

My 19 mo. old is going to a Christian school when she starts school...it will be interesting for me to compare the two.

Homeschool, we're on year 5 now with no plans to change, living and loving learning at home here.

My son went to private through 2nd grade, my daughter has never been to school.

The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn.

My kids go to a K-8 Catholic School.

WE plan to continue at the Catholic High School.

Public, and, like you, we are also in a state not necessarily known for good education, but in a district that's on top of the game. Our schools come out ahead of the last year every year.

Both of my kids go to public school and I'm not really impressed.

If I had to do it all over again (and had the money) I'd send them to the private school in the neighborhood.

She goes to public now. She went to public for Jr. kindie then I put her in a private school (non-Christian) for Kindie and grade 1 and loved the individual attention (12 kids in the class) but it was just too expensive. I'm still paying it off. So she went back to public and up until this year its been pretty good. We've had real issues this year, nothing terribly serious, but just a series of small stuff and its not been a great year. Next year she goes to public middle school so I am trying to convince her to try out for all the clubs and while she was very negative about it tonight, I saw her face light up when they said the "talent show committee and dance committee" so I'm hoping she will find more kids that share her interests and they aren't friends simply because there are only 25 girls to choose from. She is also going into the music program which I think I will also get involved in as a parent volunteer as there is concert band, jazz band, lots of different programs that I hope she will love. I was in band for 7 years and even got a trip to Europe out of it, so I hope she finds the same side benefits to just the music. In a small private school that type of experience would not be possible so I can see the advantage to both.

My kids attend public schools. It is a high performing public school district in a state known for having very good public schools.

My kids all went to public school at some point but we are now in our fifth year of homeschooling. It is going really well and we have no plans to change.

Wer exolored several possible choices. Dh belongs to the Catholic church with the church and the kids and I go to the Lutheran church with the school. I also explored some of the home schooling networks. We chose our local public school. We love all the extras they offered. The libraries blow the private ones out of the water, bigger and better music, art and computer labs, and much more extra curricular activites. The private ones offered small classes, and the home schooling network here is so well organized, it was a hard decision to make!

We do public school, but are lucky to live in a town with some money and the schools are top notch!
