I'd say that's rather short notice for a game. What if as a parent you didn't get home from work until 5:30 so didn't get the message until then? If its not a do or die game then I would say too bad, she's already made other plans and she'd not even home for you to drive her. I would send a note back saying "Sorry, she won't be there as due to the short notice she already had other plans, you are busy this evening and unable to accomodate the change this time. Hopefully with more notice in the future we can rearrange things so that she can attend all games." *hint* *hint*

I agree with Tam in that 2 hours before the game is way too little notice to expect people to even get the message, let alone rearrange plans in order to be there; the coach can't expect that 2 hours beforehand, the girls or their parents won't have other plans.

DH says to pretend I didn't read the email. I am sure most parents aren't reading the email until about now. It's 5 here. DH says, forget about it. I hope everyone else shows up.

Update - DH got to thinking and decided to call the coach and tell ask her if it was okay for her to miss the game. Coach said, no problem, will she be at tomorrow's game? :)
