At the beginning of this school year he was all excited and seemed to be fitting in very well. Now he doesn`t want to get out of bed, doesn`t want to go to bed at night hates taking showers and just seems to be in a foul mood all the time. He got 6 As and 1 B on his report card last week so his grades are not suffering. Was just wondering if any of you are dealing with this with your ds or dd? Maybe the new has just worn off or is it just another adolescent phase he is going into? I am not sure whether to do or say anything to him about it his brother (who is 9) and he are arguing all the time to so lately I feel more like a referee than a parent. Any advice or suggestions would be helpful. I have also wondered because of all the adjustments around here if that could be part of it. His dad has a new job working more hours and I am working part - time as well. But up until last week he seemed to be fine.

Sorry to hear you're in a tough "phase" again. It does seem like a roller coaster, doesn't it? Have you tried talking to ds about it sometime when he's in a calm mood? Are you ever alone in the car without his brother? That's sometimes a good time to say, "Hey, you seem a bit down lately. Has something happened at school?"

Probably an age-thing or transition-thing.
