Surprise, surprise, I don't agree w/ the Catholic church or a Catholic university ;)

I would love to see Pres. Obama speak again, myself.

I think the presidency is about much more than one issue, and overall, the president's stance on helping one's fellow citizens is a much closer match to the mission of the church than the Republican ticket tends to be.

What I find so disappointing is not how the Church is pro-life - that is for the Church to decide - but rather how it buys into the all or nothing divisiveness that has marked American politics for three decades now.

This nation will never settle the for or against abortion element, too many on both sides simply hold their ground tightly (raises hand.)

Yet there are places where we can work together and

I agree completely.

Which is part of the short-sightedness of the church saying "this guy is pro-choice, don't support him" even though on a lot of OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES they're likely on the same "team."

And you are 100% correct that we could do a lot to reduce the demand for abortion by providing both education and access to effective contraception.

From the article:

"They don't want to see that on their way into the ceremony. Nobody should be subjected to that on such a happy day. I'm really concerned the day is going to be marred."

I would be concerned too.

lmao, sooner or later, someone who disagrees will comment, and that will rather jumpstart the ranting. ;-)

In the meantime, we can happily lay out our agenda unhindered.

There is much we can do, if we just stop arguing long enough on the big issue to actually get it done.

Psssssst... our daughters and our sons have sex. Now we can pretend they don't do things like this (just as they prefer not to think good old mom and dad or mom and mom do such things), but... we do.

I know of no instance where less knowledge is the better way to go. So why do we push policies where the only thing is one statement: 'don't do it'.

Sorry, but we need to share every damn thing we know about our bodies such that they are in a position to actually make a choice, not act out of ignorance.

Hi ho, hi ho, its off and ranting I go...
