Abortion instead of contraception

This article is about abortion statistics in the UK.

Parts of it are scary.

In particular

The statistics, for 2006, showed nearly 15,000 women were having their third or more abortion, while 54 of those had terminated eight or more pregnancies.

But Mr Pritchard, the MP for The Wrekin in Shropshire, said abortion was being seen as an alternative to contraception "in far too many cases".

Could my compassion be for the 6 unborn children in this case?

So the fact that a 14 year old living, breathing fully potentiated born female was put in a position where she felt she must administer her *own* abortion and then this cycle continued because she became addicted to drugs, lived on the streets and (I'm totally guessing here, but it's quite plausible - even likely, IMO) that she did what she felt she had to do as a matter of survival.

Thank goodness that she found her way out of the darkness and turned her life around.

She was 14 in 1969, four years before abortion became legal in this country. She probably had a better chance with the coathanger in her own hands, because I imagine she could at least see that her own hands were clean.

I find your statement from this current post (#18 in this thread) to be ironic considering your statements in post #11 and #14.
