Another article from the BBC, this one says that in India, female fetuses are being aborted so that they aren't burdens to their families.

The problem in that country is about women and how they are viewed. That needs to change and it's hard to accomplish. Restricting abortion would do nothing to improve that situation.

Doesn't it seem that abortion is most rampent where women are most disregarded?

What's the problem? Most western feminist support the "right to choose" up to the point of viabilty, no questions asked. Why should people not be allowed to choose the sex of their baby?

Correction: Dangerous, *illegal* abortion is rampant where women are most disregarded. And they pay a very high price for it. NOT something we want to go back to..well, maybe some do but I love and respect my daughter too much to want to live in such a barbaric atmosphere.

That's a good point. The argument is for the right to choose, no questions asked, but when we start looking at *why* women are aborting all of a sudden defenses are put up and it doesn't look so *pretty* anymore, does it?
