I am anti abortion. PERIOD!! No way do I feel that any reason for abortion is right. Except for possibly in cases of extreme birth defects or illness in the mother. Otherwise it should be banned only for these two purposes.

After reading on this board for the last week or so, I am drifting more and more toward PL than PC even though I AM PL for myself personally already.

That being said, I hate smoking, it's a filty disgusting habit that kills, causes insurance rates to skyrocket, and prevents me from going to many places I enjoy (except now most of those places will be smoke free soon in CT). Does the fact that I find smoking to be reprehensible give me the right to tell YOU you can't smoke?

Then don't have one. But stay out of the way of other women's PRIVATE medical decisions.

Yes, if my smoking hurts someone other than myself. That's the rationale behind the many no-smoking laws that are in existence now.

If my smoking hurts *only* myself, then certainly it's none of anybody else's business.

Making abortion illegal hurts many, many people other than yourself. That's okay?

Abortion kills millions of fetuses and harms some women. Are you okay with that?

I don't consider abortion a woman's "private medical decision." I would never intrude on what I felt was a private medical decision.

Abortion can harm the woman and in ALL cases it definately harms babies. So its is the same as smoking!!! And it takes away the life of a innocent baby who deserves a chance at life just as much as any other human.

The dictionaries define the practice of medicine as "treatment or prevention of a disease or deformity." As pregnancy is neither a disease nor a deformity, I don't consider abortion a medical issue. It, to me, is strictly a moral one.

that would mean that pregnancy is also not your private medical decision either, do you want the government in your pregnancy?
