I am well aware that there are Christians who are pro-choice. Many! I'm just saying that viewpoint cannot be biblically justified...

You can try to justify that biblically; I would listen.>>

Killing is killing in the eyes of God. All sin is equal in the eys of God. If abortion saves myself from death ( thru medical necessity) or my children from death (from circumstances like abuse) then I believe it is biblically justified to kill one ( the fetus0 to save another.

I'm sure if an assailant had a gun pointed at you and you had a gun to fire back on him you would feel justified killing him to save your own life. That is how some view abortion and it's a valid point.

As far as war goes, first of all, I don't think every act of war is justified

If an act of war is not justified, does that then taint the morality of the war itself? If acts of war are unjustified, can the war itself still be justified?

For me, because there is even a possibility that we will put someone innocent to death, the death penalty is immoral.

It's not a tragedy - it's preventable, unnecessary, and done purposefully with the full knowledge that

Yeah, we've been here before. :)

All I can say that when an innocent man dies because he was convicted of murder, it's a tragedy. I'm not sure it's worth throwing out the death penalty over though. It's not like I'm all excited about the death penalty or anything; I really think having it or not having it is okay. If we could be SURE that all those executed were truly guilty, then I think there would be no question over the issue. Since we do sometimes wrongly convict the innocent, though, I can see why the death penalty is rejected in some areas. I don't know if it's better to err on the side of caution to save one innocent man, or to (very, very carefully) risk making a mistake in order to uphold the ultimate payment for an ultimate crime (justice). I really just don't know.

But what I do know is that, for argument's sake, you can logically/consistently be pro-death penalty for a guilty murderer and be

~As far as the death penalty goes, you have to remember their is biblical emphasis on not killing the innocent. Guilty murderers are... guilty.~

I think you and I have been around this block before, but it's worth stating again - there are
