I missunderstood what pro life was. I personally would choose not to have an abortion unless health or something extreme were at stake. I believe all women should have the freedom to make an educated informed decision and not be bullied. I still from what I have heard hate partial birth abortion. I believe women should have access to safe abortions but Im not opposed to precounseling as long as its not bullying and seeing an ultra sound. If Im wrong or missinformed Im willing to listen and eat crow

Well, taken out of context, anything can be misunderstood. Re read my post in it's entirety, and you will not get the impression that "the baby is nothing."

I will trust the judgement of people educated on the nervous system and fetal anatomy. I understand that there are reflexive movements, and those can be mistaken as reactions.

I love my children as well but having watched one suffer and die if I had a time machine I would have refused heroic measures at birth. Not to save myself the heartbreak, which I doubt would be less, but to save him the pain.

I also loved my children before they were born but I can tell you that it IS easier to loose a child earlier in pregnancy than to loose one half way through or at a few months old. Honestly once upon a time I thought they were similar experiences but life taught me different.

Hi :)

"you make it sound like the baby is nothing" "save yourself future heartbreak"

I didn't take it that way, particularly within the context of the comment, ie. someone who could physically/medically only carry to term once. But I'm saying this as someone who has had miscarriages and also lost a son. What seems the best to you, for yours, may not be what seems best to another.

my real problem with this statement is that you make it sound like the baby is nothing.

I think that the political Pro-Life movement is based on a suspicion of and anger at women, far more than a love of babies.

People that mistrust or are angry at women find a welcome home in the Pro-Life movement.
