Even our the lady from NY lies about healthcare and uses a tragic story to scare people (regarding healthcare), uses a dead woman's situation for her own gain, and posibly leads some to believe pregnancy, while it has risks, is more dangerous than what it is.

The real story:

Is it acceptable for a woman to try to use our emotions and fears to garner support?

It was her job - her campaign's job to verify that story and not use the plight - very mistated and misrepresented - to further her bid.

"Really, angil, this is a standard PL group ploy and yet you condemn it in a politician (whose *campaign* employees were responsible for vetting the story)? Somewhat hypocritical, isn't it?"

Although I don't think that someone who disseminates information they do not know to be true is actually *spreading lies*, this is a red herring logical fallacy. Clinton's dissemination of false information really has nothing to do with the PL movement's tendency to do the same thing.

No, the connection is that one is accepted as "okay" by an individual and the other is not.

Actually, Angil, Hillary's story of the dead woman to support universal health care reminds me alot of Gore's "woman in the motorhome" who couldn't afford medication...but she could afford that expensive motorhome.

Just to clarify, re: Hillary's story about the woman who died - the county's deputy chief told her.
