Even our the lady from NY lies about healthcare and uses a tragic story to scare people (regarding healthcare), uses a dead woman's situation for her own gain, and posibly leads some to believe pregnancy, while it has risks, is more dangerous than what it is.

Is it acceptable for a woman to try to use our emotions and fears to garner support?

I know that the Pro Lifers that used to campaign in the building I used to work in had lies in their pamphlets they were handing out.

Isn't that exactly what the Pro Life movement does?

Oh, yeah - it does

I would also like to clarify that when I said "what we would consider an emergency or serious condition"...I doubt that would include a sincere emergency....I don't think anyone would let any true emergency wait, right?

I don't think any system is perfect, unless we want to live in Denmark.

*sigh*

What about the women that abort who already have children? Or the woman in a secure marriage who just doesnt want children?

What exactly are these women afraid of?

Doubt it. Sometimes it's just rational, realistic, and hit-the-nail-on-the-head kind of thinking.

>Without fear - I doubt abortion would exist.<

Really? Because the women I know who've had abortions didn't do it out of fear but out of the KNOWLEDGE that they were not ready to have a child at that time.

"Sorry, but fear is A basis for abortion. Fear of not being able to afford a child, fear of pregnancy, fear of being able to handle a child and school, fear of medical issues with child, fear of social scorn due to age, marriage status, etc, fear of giving up one's self centeredness and having to account to another, fear of failure. Without fear - I doubt abortion would exist."

I don't fear any of those things, but I would still have an abortion if I got pregnant. I can see sometimes how fear would be a factor in some cases, but I think you're mistaken in feeling that fear is the primary reason.
