Personally, I think this is absolutely ingenius! I'm kind of tempted to set up a site similar to this! Think of it: A total site based on anonymity, where you're basically taking a gamble, and being essentially told up-front that its a gamble.

Is it sick? Yeah... but, I definitely have to give credit where its due... Whether this is a scam or not, these people are obviously intelligent enough to put people in the emotional quandry needed to solicit what they want from people.

I agree with Colleen, ingenious. Sad, absolutely. Mostly because, like it said in one of the emails they received, pro life people will be all over this in an effort to "save a child".

I also think the internet is a 'blessing and a curse' at the same time.

While I agree, very ingenious...it sets the stage for others to do the same thing...and in the end ruins the ingenious scam...just like all other scams, the only ones who will really benefit are the ones who get in on it in the beginning, so if you want in, better set up your site now!

FTR, I wouldn't fall for an anonymous scam such as this. In the event of abortion they will donate all money they have received? Sure.

The *stage* had already been set (and I'm sure numerous times over) from what I believe was the original ingenious scam, Save Kate I believe it was called. I don't remember exactly, it's been a while but she had people donate enough money she was able to get herself out of credit card debt and debt overall.

I would have to say the scheme is still a bit ingenious as they've earned $12,500 thus far...

Definitely, whether or not the premise is true it's a scam (or at least extortion, whic is illegal and the true reason for anonymity). I have many friends that rent and only have one car for the family and they raise great kids! Personally, we try to avoid teaching our kids that they can get whatever they want and tend to withhold alot of things (unfortunantly grandparents seem to step in with the toys and we end up going through them constantly to put into yard sales). My two year old already knows how to try to annoy me in the grocery store to get gold fish (which I won't pick up if she's asking for it specifically to prevent her from continuing this trend). Yeah, we were financially ready to have kids, but we don't spend all of our money on them. When we hit a bump in the road financially and didn't know what to do we figured it out ourselves and never tried to use our kids to extort money from people.

I will say that the hate mail they've posted is a little rediculous. Those people are racist and I can't believe the crap spewing from their mouths. Personally, I think it's a stupid site, but it doesn't make me angry or anything. I guess they are well on their way to reaching their goal if they have managed $12K in 9 days.

Yes, I remember save Kate...but like has been said...save a baby does pull on prolifer's heart strings and like it or not many times prolifers tend to act out of the goodness of their hearts...or maybe some tend to be a bit naive...sheltered? I don't know...but I can see where some could be scammed into thinking they are "saving a baby"...Personally, I think this is horrible. We can't go around saving every baby. Me? I would love for someone to get my family out of debt, but could not live with myself if I scammed someone...how do people live with themselves? Fact is, most families in today's world have debt...we do it to ourselves...deal with it...it is called responsibility...but don't scam people...that is awful....I just love that God said, "Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord."...or as some like to believe...Karma....what goes around, comes around. I truly believe in this....We reap what we sow...in the end these "Baby scamming people" will get what is coming to them...maybe when they really want a baby, they will be unable to conceive...who knows?..But somehow it all comes back...full circle.
