Ok so does this make anyone else nervous? I really thought that after the Iowa Caucus this guy would fall off the face of the earth. If he becomes president do you think he could potentially overturn Roe vs Wade?? *shudder*

I personally don't think he will ever win but if he did I would DEMAND my OBGYN to tie my tubes.

I wish people would pay more attention in history class. Even our president has a degree in history and seems to demonstrate no logical understanding of it.

Does Huckabee really think that the first abortion ever performed was done in 1973? If he does, he's more foolish than I thought. The first known contraceptives and abortifacients date back to ancient Egypt, so we know people have been doing it for thousands of years.

Honestly, so many people in this country think that society just dropped out of the sky in 1800. Before that, they don't know what happened, so they don't think it was important. They don't realize that premarital sex, out-of-wedlock pregnancy, and abortion were quite common in early America. They think that the social movements of the late 18th and early 19th century are the way things have always been. These movements had some great benefits- a greater concern about physical health, emphasis on education of all children, regardless of class, improvement in labor conditions, etc. But they had some serious drawbacks as well- making abortion explicitly illegal, pathologizing pregnancy and childbirth, limiting access to contraception, limiting women's legal rights, etc.

Since I am an registered independent I try not to pay attention to the primaries since I cannot vote in them. There are too many candidates (like Huckabee) that just make me shudder and I hope that they are weeded out by the general election, when I do start doing my reseach other than those 'who should I vote' for things.

>I brought up pharmacists denying abortion drugs (I guess this still is on topic) and should they 'just do their job also' and was told that was different. I never got a good explanation why though.<

The Muslim that was in the Minneapolis/St Paul MN airport~~and your correct on the pharmacy thing. They are one in the same~~either do your darn job or find another line of work.
